My favorite place for relaxationI've stayed here a few times for extended periods, my first time being a year ago. If you want peace and quiet, surrounded by nature and within minutes to deserted, unspoiled beaches then this is the place for you. I stay in one of the larger bungalows and since my previous visit they had added a kitchen to my favorite bungalow which made it even more appealing for me. They do have their own restaurant here but I often prefer to cook myself so appreciate having that option. From the private outdoor shower area to the sundeck over the water's edge and the peaceful surroundings, I just find this place so relaxing, Being located where it is, transportation is necessary, whether it be car, motorbike or bicycle. The surrounding area is also wonderful for cycling on non-busy roads meandering through the countryside and along the coast in some places, and there are several waterfalls and scenic viewpoints within an hour or so drive away. The staff and owner are very friendly and accommodating. Wi-fi is good (important for me).

Just a one nighterWhen I arrived I had to call the manager (Owner?) to check in. While I waited a few minutes for her arrival, I saw only one member of staff (gardener), and two guests. Obviously the very low season. There may have been other guests but I only stayed the one night. The room was very clean and nice with hot/cold water, the row of rooms were a fairly new addition according to a friend who had stayed there before. It is located a 5 minute drive off route 44 about 6km south of Thai Mueang. You will need some form of transportation as it is pretty much on it's own. The countryside surrounding the resort was great for walks/bike rides (Bikes available at the resort).

Potential unlimited but......Clearly the owners have had a fantastic vision to develop this property on a lake that was previously a quarry. However the manager has let the place fall into disrepair, is dirty and worn. Unfortunately she is clearly over it and needs the tap on the shoulder to go. I arrived at 3.45pm and was advised that that was late and that last orders for the restaurant was at 6.30pm when she will cook the food and I can eat it when I want. Even though I was very late my room was not cleaned but it only took her one minute and twelve seconds to do the clean. Other advice at check in is to watch out for the dogs and not leave shoes outside, two minutes later I met the three dogs one of which is very aggressive and bails you up. OK so where is the beautiful bar in the photos - no where of course. The spa - same. So I am stuck in the middle of no where with 12 beers and a bag of chips. I drove out to find ice then asked for an ice bucket which was a source of frustration for her I was later to find out how bad. I could not sleep because the place is flood lit all night and the room is like daylight. I go for breakfast and she is putting out the breakfast buffet (six slices of bread and four margarine portions) at 8.15am in her pajamas, I ask her about the lights and she said the guests like them on - they actually went off at 7.30am The area has beautiful beaches but you must have transport. Day two I had a big lunch so did not need her food service that night. I also bought some ham and tomato to make the breakfast better which infuriated her when I asked to borrow a knife. At check out she claimed I did not give her a key deposit and any way she would keep it to cover the rent of a glass, knife and an ice bucket. So I guess that was an admission that I had paid a deposit. I did not know whether to laugh or cry for her as clearly she is also dishonest. She then said I was cheap when actually the first things I asked her were where is the bar, restaurant and spa so I can spend money in her dump but now she is reduced to trying to spiv 200 Baht out of guests. I acknowledge the previous reviews which were positive and I can see that may have been the case but the are quite old and it is not the case now. In the end she said she did not want the deposit and gave it back as I left - she then smiled but that might have been wind, If they get rid of her and do a modest revamp and offer the services the advertise the place would be great. If they want guests to look after them selves then no problem just offer a communal kitchen and BBQ. Until then ........... forget it.

Great weekend away from PhuketCheap and cheerful rooms with hot showers, air con and mini fridge on a lake which is safe for swimming and has 2 free single kayaks. Restaurant will cook for you if you tell them in advance. Bring your own beer and BBQ welcome. Need transport but beaches only 5 minutes away. The owner is really nice.

Weekend awayAway for the weekend with family and stayed one night at this resort. Nice beautiful surroundings for sure but the resort itself needs some maintenance and it would attract more guests with no doubts. We stayed in the deluxe lagoon room which its quite spacious but needs doing. The fridge wasnt working well but we got new one with no problem. One would need own transport to be able to get out and about. They were in the process of making a nice pool at the resort which would be good for future stays whereas kids can enjoy the pool as the lake might not be suitable for swimming around for little ones. The breakfast wasnt anything one would called breakfast but if they could that sorted this resort would be a hidden gems to get away in. The lady I met seemed to look after everything and she was nice and helpful. Sure hope this resort will get better in the future as Id like to go back again.
