  Beautiful Castle hotel!

  Went to this hotel when traveling for business in the area.Without a doubt most business men and tourists will view Gommern as too small and not worthy of a visit. But you have to try it. Wasserburg zu Gommern is different and very inviting. It is part of an old castle which in turn was at one time an old jail but today is a hotel full of charm with a house brewery. Both dinner and breakfast are taken in the Gasthof which stands opposite the hotel. A shiort walk across the garden that divides the two buildings. The food and the service were first class, the breakfast outstanding. Most certainly a night stop here will provide an interesting experience and an evening stroll through the old East German village will add to the occasion. Will certainly remember this area/location when travellng again in the area.

  Loved the quiet room and brewery, breakfast was good too!

  Stayed for two nights in Aug 2018, the wife and I. It's not often you get the chance to stay in an old castle type building surrounded by a moat and having it's own brewery. Loved the old feel of the whole place, calm, quiet and charming. Room was huge, fridge didn't work though, otherwise all fine and tidy. Beers were good, our dinner in the courtyard was lovely and the breakfasts offered a good selection of both hot and cold food. Service was friendly although the main barman appeared to be a bit lost and clueless at times when it got a little busy, all added to the fun.

  Romantic place to stay

  The hotel is one part of an medieval castle sorrounded by water, very quiet and romantic. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, not luxuriously equipped but okay. Unfortunately very poor wifi in the room. very good breakfast!

  Beautiful

  The hotel is located in an old castle. It's beautiful. The rooms are nice, beds very comfortable. It's very quiet at night which we value. Of course staff speaks English :) Breakfast is basic but more than enough.

  Great spot!

  We stopped in the hotel for a night on our way from UK to Poland. It was just what we needed! The room was clean, warm and spacious. Bathroom was well equipped and had nice big shower. The only couple of things we were a bit disappointed about is that bed is made out of two single beds, so there is that big gap in the middle. The room didn't have a kettle or tea/ coffee making facilities and there is only one tiny bottle of water offered as complimentary. What really made our stay memorable and great was the staff from the restaurant. Paulina was absolutely fantastic, so accommodating and friendly, despite the late arrival, they all took great care of us and served us delicious dinner. In the morning, Michal was assisting us with breakfast and he was the nicest lad ever! So friendly, polite and genuine. Thank to them, We liked the place so much, that we've decided to stay again for one night on our way back, and it was fantastic to see them all again, they've immediately recognised us and once again took fantastic care of us and our culinary needs. Thanks guys for making our stay in this place so memorable! We will be back for sure!
