    Inaccurate website!!

My stay at this hotel was a potential car crash however it was rescued by some prompt management. I booked my room directly with the hotel on the guidance and description of their own website which boasted that all of its 28 rooms had stunning views of the grounds & gardens. My booking confirmation, stated that I had indeed booked a Mansion House Double with a connecting room, iron & ironing board, hairdryer and offered stunning views of the gardens. After checking in I found myself thrown into room 16 which is called a Standard Room. This room bore no relation to the room described and itemised on my booking. The room looked straight into the back of a building, with no view at all. There was no iron and ironing board, and no hairdryer as listed in the rooms inventory and the beds springs where clanking away and completely shot. Furthermore, this was mid October, it was cold, and there was NO radiator or heating anywhere in the room!. The connecting room was also absent. I went to reception to double check that I had been given the correct room, to which they insisted I had. I showed them their website, and I showed them my booking which I emphasised was the contract. I also eluded to the heating issue and requested another room, to which I was told that the Hotel was fully booked. I informed reception that my bill will have to be suitably adjusted, and begrudgingly returned to my refrigerated room. 10 mins later reception knocked on my door, remarked that the room was indeed freezing and they miraculously found me another room with heating and stunning views of the gardens - I assume they where going to throw some other soul into room 16 that night. I had a feeling management and reception knew room 16 was substandard and perhaps not fit for market, so why put guests in there? - thats running a dishonest practice! To put some facts into the hotels web site, I counted 35 rooms and saw signs for 37 - thats nearly 10 more than their 28 Rooms listed. Rooms 1-10 are Manor House Garden View Rooms, the rest could be all Standard Rooms of which I can vouch that rooms 14-20 & 23-25 have NO garden views and look onto brick walls. Once in a proper room, I couldnt complain thanks to some quick and prompt decision making by the management. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, the dining experience was superb, the hotel and grounds are indeed stunning. Despite this annoying Covid crisis, I felt safe and the system and procedure put in place do not hinder the experience or enjoyment of the guests. I would not hesitate to return to this Hotel, but my message to the management: please update and correct the descriptions of your rooms and more importantly check that the description of the booking matches the room in question.

    Shocked and Disappointed

I have never experienced a hotel like this. The staff, whilst pleasant enough, advised the hotel was fully booked so I could not pay to be upgraded from what was a totally shabby and not very clean room however, when I investigate Booking.com (who I use use regularly) they indicated that superior rooms were available - I still did not get upgraded - as requested however, was shown to a unused disabled room which was only slightly larger in size and very shabby with no bathroom heating at all. The toiletries and tea/milk/sugar facilities were all thrown together into a small paper bag As my business schedule was totally changeable, I was unable to access any food at all without prior ordering which was impossible as I was on call and frequently called out. I had to stay over an extra night and was returned to the same room at 4pm to find it had not been cleaned at all the bed still unmade and the towels were still unchanged - the room had not been touched at all. I was again unable to upgrade and the attitude was one of total disinterest. To finalise, I had an emergency with my mobile telephone and asked to use the hotel phone and was told it was not at all possible although I obviously had offered to pay - unbelievable! At such times when businesses are struggling to survive, I find it incredulous that a hotel in such a beautiful historic building and exceptional surroundings can offer such a poor and low standard of hygiene and service.

    Beautiful Afternoon Tea!

My partner and I visited Warbrook House on Sunday 1st November for afternoon tea and had a lovely experience. The service and food was excellent. So lovely enjoying it in the quiet warm lounge with pleasant music in the background. A lovely positive experience in an otherwise scary and unpredictable year. Would highly recommend!

Best time ever - definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing! The rooms, the staff, the food, the location, the management, the hospitality- truly world class! Would recommend anyone to visit - and only an hour and 15 mins to london by car- perfect for a family break or a chill out with friends... Excellent place to hold a private or buisness event! Cannot thank the staff enough for going totally out of their way to look after us! Polite/courteous and always smiling! Will definitely visit again soon!

    Wedding reception

Wow! Where to start? The build up to the wedding reception was met with attentiveness, flexibility and support the whole time. The staff here were amazing. So helpful and kind, always had time for me. The manager and wedding coordinator went above and beyond and I cannot thank them enough. On the actual day it was perfect. The staff were wonderful; so kind and helpful. It was during the covid pandemic and yet we felt safe, clean and at ease. The staff respected all the covid secure measures and made sure all the guests felt safe. The customer service was amazing, the house is just simply stunning and the bedrooms were great too. The food was amazing! All my guests commented on how great all the food was. I cannot thank you enough and I cannot recommend you enough. Memories that will last forever. Beautiful. Thank you!!
