    Beautiful hotel in lovely settings

Stayed here as part of our holiday in discovering Germany, The property is set in beautiful surroundings , lovely hotel, we were shown to our room , which was quite large for me and my partner, our male friend who was not quite so lucky stayed in quite a smaller very pink room. Our room had large beds and windows, little sitting area and quite big bath room, the hotel is old but the furniture is new (ikea) and at times was a little sparse but this could be just because the room was so big... the room was clean but the window sills were dirty due to trees outside( windows were open) so i am being a bit pedantic. There was the usual amenity's within the room, mini bar was very cheap with some nice little touches re local made rum as well as usual items. We were unable to get wifi as details lady on desk gave me were wrong she corrected it but it was time to leave then. Its an ideal place to stay with short walk to Badmunstereifel and it is a lovely hotel just needs a little update but nice stay and the host was very cheerful and friendly.

    Good choice and good value.

This hotel is just a short walk from the historic town centre. Easy parking unlike the guesthouses within the old walled town. The rooms are bright, clean and the bed was comfortable. Ksenia was very helpful and rang and messaged to confirm our booking and was very accommodating when we changed from two nights to one, as we decided to spend an extra night in Holland. All in all we wouldn't hesitate to book again if we were holidaying in the area. This can be described as a basic two or three star hotel which does all the basics well. Didn't have breakfast but the coffee was good. Recommended.

    Nurburgring Stop Over

We stayed at the Waldhotel in Bad Münstereifel on 2 different occasions as a stop over for the 24 hour race at the Nurburgring. The hotel is not too far from the track & had some lovely roads on the way so a convenient stop over. The hotel is somewhat dated, the first room (204) we stayed in had a kitchenette, bed, shower room & lounge, the second room (202) was better with 2 single beds and a shower room which looked newer. The hotel doesnt serve dinner & we struggled to get food in town (there was 10 of us though), breakfast was ok but service not great. The price was good so it was as we expected.

    Bit of a disappointment

This hotel should have everything going for it. Just outside of town, parking, quiet wooded area and a short walk into the centre (albeit a very steep walk back) but it missed. We arrived early and did not expect to get a room until much later but would like to inform the reception of that and about our car as a courtesy. But the place was shut and there was a local number to call. Coming back later we able to get in (via other guests!) but the room key and the registration form was there for you to fill out on the reception desk but no-one else about. You also had to specify time and numbers for breakfast. A DIY hotel. The room was a bit tatty, no basin plug, missing curtains, no heating (weather was grim), empty minibar, limited tea making facilities (2 herbal teabags and no milk) and an iffy shower head. It must be said there was a freezer to chill our own water, plenty of hot water and the attended breakfast was very good but overall a disappointment.

Think carefully if you don't have a car!

The word of warning here is that this place is the top of a decent hill. It's a bit of a walk into town if you don't have a car. Also - phone ahead if you're arriving late. The staff were co-operative as we called a few days before, but there were no staff in the hotel when we arrived at midnight. Other than that the rooms are comfortable (though nothing more) with comfortable beds and basic but clean bathroom with shower. The breakfast was good value with eggs, cold meat, pastries and yogurt (though it was the same every morning). One of the staff spoke decent English too (though not so much with the other two!) I'd stay here again if I was visiting the Nurburgring, though it's a bit of a drive. I'd recommend it if you're looking for good value lodgings, but if you're looking for modern facilities beyond wifi then look elsewhere.
