  Goldene!!

  While in my hometown I also visited the place I got married in a long time ago. This place is just amazing. Romantic, in the country for relaxation, horseback riding...a KINDERGARDEN...so parents can go do their own thing without worrying about the kids...you name it its there.. Beautiful rooms, sauna bowling alley. And on and on....The food is excellent and the coffee and cakes.. Yummmy..Out of this world.....if you are ever in upper Franconia ( northeastern part of bavaria) you have to stay there!??

  Unfriendly service, bad food, dirty installations = Never again

  We reserved at Waldhotel Bächlein for our dinner on the 25th of december. Getting there was exciting as it is litter lay in the middle of the woods. We reserved a table for about 10 people. We were sited in a salon with about 70 seats however we were the only customers there. Although the dinner on the 25th is a very important in the region there was little Christmas decoration at the place. The Table was not set, some had napkins some a fork, the rest didn't have anything. The waitress came and put 3 Menus on the table, as we were 10 people we requested more menus and the answer was "thats all we have". We then continue to chose from the menu but half of the people couldn't order what they wanted as it was sold out (note: we were the only guests there). This place offers "fresh fish" so one of us went out to chose it.. to find already a dead fisch in the tank floating around. So we decided to go for meet and leave the fish for another restaurant. usually, when you order at a restaurant, the dishes come all at once or at least one after the other one. However at this place they served us the food with a difference of up to 15min between the first and the last dish, when the first one was almost done the last one was getting something to eat. We had to send back one steak we order for the children as it was bloody raw, of course the Milanese or Schnitzel needs to be done. When they brought back the meat they didn't even bother to put it on a different plate but rather put it on the same plate with blood from the first time. That was quite hard for the kids to eat. The food was very bad, meet was hard, the salad had a regular dressing. I ordered a dish including 3 different types of meat however I was served only 2 different types of it. As for the place overall the decoration has a bad taste, the floor was full with crumbles from I guess previous guests which we didn't see. The toilettes needed maintenance asap. I donot recommend this place to anyone. Please keep your fingers away from any offer at this place (packages, etc.). The value for your money is very low.

  Rural but pleasant

  I was surprised to find such place in the middle of almost nothing... I have to say that needs a bit of care in the outside area, but room was very pleasant and I will come back for sure next time Im around...

  With Kids. Its the best

  Although i was on business trip. I found this hotel a nice place for kids under 12. They have pools. Lot of animals. Horses to ride on. Outdoor games. Fishing. They gave complimentary things n food to families n their guests. Only i missed a chocolates in hotel. No chocolate available for sale. One more important thing, this hotel is at country side, stay hereof u have own car or pick n drop service. Good luck

  Uber kid and pet friendly

  The family (wife; 4 yr old; and dog) and I spent a long weekend in what may be the best resort in Germany for those with a kid and/or dog with lots to do for everyone. For example: you can drop your kid off with a highly trained professional caregiver/entertainer, or visit one to the Haba outlet store right across the street from their main factory, or take a long horse/pony ride thru the woods, or hang out around one of the just right pools, or or or... the options go on and on. As for your four legged family member: it seemed to me that every guest had a friendly dog, as well as the owners having a few as well. To say this place is dog friendly would be such an understatement. Topped of with outstanding service, plenty of great food and a reasonable price... this family has this place listed as a definite do-again :)
