coach holiday to black forest and lake constance

stayed here for 4 days with emjay tours of newark . This is a very pleasant family run hotel not far from the swiss border in the heart of the black forest region. The rooms are very clean and reasonably spacious although no air conditioning This is an hotel and wellness centre with a brine swimming pool which can be used at no extra cost, and people come to have treatments for all sorts of orthopaedic ailments which of course is an extra cost . The staff are very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The buffet meals are very good with a reasonable choice of salads etc. In the bar the beers and wines are all local for the area and my wife said the white wine was excellant , i did not like the draught pils but the white beer crystal from the bottle was good. For touring the black forest and north switzerland this is a brilliant hotel to stay in .For anyone thinking of a christmas break looking at the brochure it seems fantastic .The town of bad durheim is small but the park is very nice with a fitness centre and brine pool which i believe is 12 euros entrance money . All in all a lovely place to stay . Word of warning to all beer drinkers if offered a beer called radler dont drink it its awful 2.8 percent and artificial sweetners .But great holiday

    Black Forest Magic

Stayed here for 4 days, the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room was of good size and looked to have been recently refitted. Bathroom was a wet room with large shower, every thing was very clean and well presented. All our meals were buffet style, plenty to choose from both hot and cold. Some main courses were cooked by the chefs in front of you, as you selected what to have. The tmosphere was friendly with plenty of outside seating to while away the evening with friends. Drinks reasonable priced, with local beers and lager Excellent facilities, the brine pool was amazing, float around with a video of the local scenery, cloudscape and sunsets, all very relaxing and all included in the stay. Set in a small town so quite location, beautiful park within short walking distance and very well placed to visit larger attractions close by, all in all a great place to relax and have a great time.

    Wellness Centre/Hotel

We were part of a coach tour and stayed for three nights. There was another coach staying at the same time. Rooms were clean and tidy but there was no air conditioning or a fridge to keep medication cool. There was no drinking facility in the rooms. When it came to meal times it was chaotic with two coach tours and residents using the same facilities. At times there was not a table free to sit and eat a meal. Food was varied but some of the basics like water, you had to pay for. Many of the residents that we saw were very ill, using walking aids and breathing apparatus. This is not really a holiday environment. The town and park is fantastic just not for us!! We had come from a very high standard hotel in Boppard which was a 5* hotel and sadly this was not what we expected.

A little too much like a care home with trimmings

The situation was great and the accomodation adequate however no fridge (A problem with having to keep insuilin cool) and in some cases no showers. Major problem are the dining arrangesnts when the whole residency arrives for dinner at the same time all 100+. Many residents are disabled or recovering post op so it can be a struggle to get arround the walkers and zimmerframes. The method of serving hot meats reminded me of an institution! and the choices very limited. Better if on holiday to source a non spa hotel. Didn't spoil our stay of 3 days though

Really nice place to stay or eat a meal

Great hotel in Germany. Excellent service and food. Clean bathrooms. Easy off street parking. Good beer. Staff in traditional costumes. You must wear a mask inside. Good german food with nice variety. Would recommend.
