  Old fashion and neglected sanatorium

  Entering the main building, the reception, there is a definite musty odor. All the building has it. The dinner was absolutely tasteless.... The bathroom is old fashioned and very closette smelly which can not be eliminated. The wardrobe is very small for 2 people. The beds are old and unconfortable. No fridge in the room. The WIFI is horrible weak, impossible to use it. Free but not good for anything.

  Meh, the hotel has seen beter times for sure.

  The room i was given was still in the 70s when the hotel might have been built. Poor bathroom, horrible lighting, the bed that was worse than expected. They still have those huge heavy brass key holders and not the key cards to unlock the doors. Anyways, check in was fine, the hotel itself has a structure that is convoluted and full of stairs and elevators. Felt like i was looking for room 237 from The Shining. Then i went for dinner. The English menu is not as complete as the German one, only one waitress spoke English and she was nice and all, but i had to ask for being offered the dessert menu, they brought me a coffee without asking. Not good. Then the pool and wellness center: if you choose the hotel becose it has the pool, then don't. The pool is in a separate building, very run down, with changing room that is halfway between a storage room and a doctor's office.

  Pleasantly surprised

  This place doesnt look like much from the street and I had read some bad reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. We had a great experience. The food in the restaurant was great, I had a perfectly cooked steak. And my room which was in another building (building 11, room 700something) was huge and very nice with a beautiful view. Had a balcony and comfortable beds and a living room area.. staff was very nice and the breakfast was great, no complaints!

  Not my cup of tea

  Been there for a week on business trip, the hotel is a regular Black Forest , the room is small, the bathroom is not fitting a grown may. The service was nice but had some problem with English. There are a few restaurants around the hotels restaurant dinner is expensive, that is what you have when there is no competition around. The breakfast is good the wifi is average. You can hike from the hotel around by foot for a few hours in the paths below the hotel which go left. The most important thing that can save you money is that there is a supermarket 2 minuets walk below the hotel, visit here to save. Also no gift shop in the area for at least 20 km . It has a charming feeling there but the outdated hotel gives you a feeling how it was when he was first built.

  I don't think it could have been worse

  This place hit all the bad points of a trip. Honestly, I don't know how they are still in business. When we checked in there were no issues. When we checked out that was when the fun started. We were there with a CONEX gift card and the hotel did their very best to screw us out of as much money as possible. Their billing was intentionally confusing and the girl working the desk on the night of 27 August 2016 was possibility the worst kind of person. She spoke down and was rude. Multiple times she interrupted us (it began on the first sentence). Then later she snapped off "I told you 3 times, don't you get it?" Seriously, what they hell kind of reply is that when you are in Customer Service. Maybe we had a problem because you had our food listed in one lump sum for breakfast and dinner for 2 nights. Yeah, they hid charges to squeeze money out.. WARNING: this place is not worth your time and money. And before someone says to call back and ask. We did. Called today and the person on the phone said "well if you read the fine print on your gift card it says we don't have to itemize the bill." So, never never never again. I hope this helps someone pick a different place.
