  Acres of lovely...apples, peonies, hosts...

  Wished we could've stayed longer at Joyanne and Richards and this is the only place I'd have liked to stay longer during our 18 days in New Zealand. Greeted by a treelined entrance and the hosts came out to greet us, we had an amazing "Caribbean" inspired room that was so comfortable. Jo made sure we had everything we could possibly need and came to our rescue when we arrived from a rain-soaked day of hiking and boating, umbrellas when we needed to get to our car and to great dinner establishments. Loved wandering the amazingly large and diverse grounds and acres of apple orchards. Missed the peony season but maybe another time. Food was fabulous and fresh apples everyday. Don't miss a trip up the same road to see Sue's Pottery. You will not regret this choice!

  Just Amazing

  A three night stay and two nights in . We are loving it so much I had to do a quick review. This place is just fantastic. Beautifully appointed and luxurious. Joyanne and Richard have been great hosts . I can not recommend this place enough but book directly not through an agent or intermediary.

  Wonderful place to stay

  We did enjoy our stay with the family for two nights at this wonderful place with our friendly hosts and by far the best breakfast during our 3 weeks trip through New Zealand. The kids loved the garden and the pool.

  A serene setting..............

  From Joyanne's greeting when we pulled into the driveway to Richard's good bye when we left, this was such an outstanding stay. What a beautiful spot! Apple trees, flowers, swimming pool, wine in the refrigerator, snacks on the shelf to an absolutely stunning room........everything was outstanding from the beginning to the end. We were only there 2 nights as we traveled all over New Zealand in 3 weeks time, but this stop was a highlight. Cannot recommend enough!

  Best stay in New Zealand!

  We adored Wairepo House. It was hands down the best stay of our trip. Firstly Joyanne and Richard are such amazing hosts. They went out of their way to welcome us and get us comfortable. They embody everything that is wonderful about New Zealand and their home is gorgeous. The house itself is stunning. Beautiful rooms, well appointed. The grounds are gorgeous - Apple trees, swimming pool, orchards. Its stunning. Breakfasts are hearty and fun. I really enjoyed sitting down and having a delicious breakfast and chatting to Richard and Joyanne about the area and the history of the region and their home. So fascinating. Joyanne helped suggest lovely places for dinner and helped make bookings for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Our stay was fantastic and I felt a little sad to be leaving. Truly brilliant. Wairepo House was such a memorable stay and one of the highlights of my amazing holiday in New Zealand. I cant recommend it enough.
