  low standard and little respect by the staff

  It was actually already my second time there. I already wasn't exactly happy with it during the first time but I thought, well, other options in Wageningen are more expensive so I will go with this one again. After all, it is not unbearable that the furniture is old and cheap and the rooms are visibly old as long as they function and are half way clean (really just half way the first time). It is also bearable to have to ask for a hairdryer at the reception and pay 10 euros deposit for it even though it has been for some time standard to have a hairdryer in the room in any other hotel I know. It is very unpleasant that the room becomes a mere sauna once it has 30 degrees outside and there is only a small amount of fans for very few lucky visitors. And I heard that in winter a colleague had trouble there because the cold air kept coming in through untight windows and stuff. Oh, and they have locks on the door inside the room which cant be used. Sure, it must be from earlier times when they did not have the electric system yet. But it feels uncomfortable, having a lock but not being able to lock the door from inside (even if in theory it should not be possible to open the door from outside without a card). But what really pissed me off this time was that they took away my towels 2 days in a row and I had to go to the reception to get new ones after a long day of work until I put a no-disturb-sign on the door all day - and on top they took my own dish towel which I had brought from home which looks totally different from the hotel towels. And in the end I got no proper apology and no compensation of any sort (maybe a chocolate with a sorry-note in the room or a voucher for a beverage at their bar or simply a new dish towel?). And finally the receptionist tried to cheat me out of my 10 deposit: I gave the hairdryer back. The receptionist said: thank you and expected me to leave. After I said: I would like my 10 back, she just looked at me as if she didnt understand. After I said explicitly that I was talking about the deposit for the hairdryer, she went straight to the drawer, took out the envelope with my room number and my 10 and handed it to me. This is such an established system, she knew perfectly that she owed me 10 the moment she took the hairdryer but she just would have liked that I forgot and she could keep the money. I feel so disrespected by these people plus it is such an uncomfortable hotel. I cannot recommend it to anyone.

  Poor value

  I paid 169 excluding city taxes for 2 nights excluding breakfast. The rooms reminded me of student hall of residence. I had 1 sachet of coffee and no milk. This wasn't topped up after cleaning. The breakfast cost 15 a throw, so inc breakfast the overnight cost is about 100.The NH hotel near Schiphol is 70 inc cooked breakfast with a much superior proper hotel room. I think the WICC is providing poor value and needs to up it's game. I wouldn't go back.

  Unethical hidden T&Cs

  I booked a room with this hotel and needed to cancel the trip, this hotel charged my credit card and refused to refund me despite cancelling 48hrs before arrival. Unethical hidden T&C's, very dissatisfied with customer service, be cautious in booking with this hotel it's an embarrassment to the nation of the Netherlands.

  Be smart and fire the manager.

  Because of the health situation of my father and corona my mother didn't have much "her time". So I took her to this hotel close to Rhenen a place she visited much in her youth. What a nice receipt at the reception. With a smile. Because she is not able to walk very well they gave us a groundfloor room. What a nice gesture ! Also the brasserie helped me, a smoker, with a warmed place to handle my addciction. So far so (very) good. In the evening after dinner we wanted to stay in our room. Eat some snacks and have a Martini (she) and Belgian quality beer (me). Very honoust of the reception guy tot say there was 5 euro fee for bringing. So I walked myself. But alle the offered snacks of the display were sold out. The suggestion go to the nearest supermarkt a joke. It's your hotel and your responsibility. Send someone there! In the morning there was a big line waiting at breakfast for the ONLY coffee and tea machine. Why not two or three ? I know cheap hostels who have this. To conclude; the dearest staff. But no vision. No leadership. Fire the manager (presuming there is one) and find a competent one. Next time a ten! For now a small 7.

  Nice Stay

  Stayed here while on business meeting. The staff took care of us and everything was very well organized. Food was great, meeting venue was awesome and bed room was enough for me and had good value for money.At the end of my stay, they organized a party which we enjoyed to be part of and assisted at finding good offer for Amsterdam Airport drop off. Highly Recommended.
