  Cumpleaños de mi pareja

  Muchas gracias Alma por asignarlos la habitación con vistas al mar y ayudarnos en la reserva de la piscina. Estuvimos muy contento con todo el personal. La piscina nos encanto. Mi pareja quedo muy contento y se sintió muy especial en su cumpleaños.

  5* staff but not hotel for the price

  Wed stayed here a few years ago in a room on a higher floor with a beautiful view. So I was initially disappointed with our double double room on the first floor. We did look towards the bay but it was obstructed by ugly scaffold like bars and a concrete area. Beds were very comfortable. Towel very fluffy but did have some black marks on them. They were swiftly replaced though. We were on DBB and food choice was disappointing on first night but fortunately a new menu was introduced on the second night which was better. We used the pool twice which has to be booked, 45 slots and this seemed to work well. Staff everywhere were very polite and helpful abiding and enforcing COVID rules so you felt safe. The organisation in the dining room seemed lacking as quite a few orders went to the wrong people. We enjoyed our stay. It was expensive for what it was but a welcome change of scenery.

  Amazing staff, wonderful experience

  Our overnight stay was a delight from beginning to end. We were greeted by Ashley who made us feel really welcome and gave us all the information we needed. She is such a great ambassador - warm, engaging and polite. She even called us as we arrived in our room to make sure everything was to our liking. It certainly was - we had booked a St Davids suite and it was truly luxurious, spotlessly clean, masses of space and with a floor to ceiling view over the bay. We were initially undecided on where to eat in the evening, so went down to the bar for a drink while we deliberated. We were served at our table immediately by Tom - another credit to this team! He was so friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and made us feel hugely welcome. The drinks arrived and were replenished very promptly! We decided there and then to eat in the restaurant where we were served by Steve - again, a fantastic member of the team who we really enjoyed chatting with between courses. He also knew exactly how much extra spice to add to the (delicious) channa masala to make it exactly to my taste! This hotel exudes quality in every aspect, but what struck us was the professionalism and warmth of every team member. We will definitely be coming back!

  Gone Downhill Since the Rocco Forte Days...

  I love this hotel however i am sorry to say that on the last few occasions i have stayed my advance requests as to floors & views from rooms have gone completely ignored. The new company seems to be focused on charging you for an upgrade if you make a preference e.g. high floor/ Mermaid Quay side. Also £4 for a measly sized filter coffee is a bit over the top. Its a shame they seem to be so greedy now & are neglecting customer service : even if you are an IHG Gold member. The hotel is in a spectacular position & has so much potential; it spoils it when the management are so avaricious. I have stayed here for decades, since it opened & it is one of the best....I have in the past even been upgraded to the top suites on more than one occasion: this would never happen now. Its such a shame it has been unnecessarily tarnished in this way, forgets about loyalty and places the emphasis on maximum profit.

  Above and beyond service!

  My partner and I stayed at the Voco to celebrate a special occasion and St David's did not disappoint! From the moment we entered, the staff were beyond helpful and the service was fantastic. We got bumped up to a Suite and had fabulous views of the bay and the room was spectacular - bed was very comfortable and got a great night's sleep. Used the pool too which was lovely. We also went for dinner in the in-hotel restaurant which again was great. Service was fantastic and food was delicious. Our server (can't remember name sorry - but was from Edinburgh) went above and beyond and ensured we had a fantastic evening. If you're looking for a luxury stay in Cardiff I'd highly recommend Voco St David's; I'll definitely be heading back soon!
