Very pleasant stayWe were here in august this year. It is small beautiful hotel in the not so far from Sofia , almost in the mountine . So we could walk around the mountine. Hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. In the complex there is an ethno restaurant in special bulgarian style and very beautiful garden with greenery. I realy recommend this. We taste some traditional dishes like "shaslik " and "hominy". They were very delicious. No i am in sofia again. Unfortunately there wasn't any vacantion rooms in this hotel.

Once Upon a TimeI was just reminiscing of a stay years ago at the "Tulip". Ving Rhames was there. I am the ex wife of his assistant. I quickly realized from my encounter with various staff, how dedicated they were to their jobs. The entire culture was the same, I noticed. Unlike most of us Americans who tend to grade jobs based on a glamour factor, gas station attendants are educated there. I felt soo dumb. They were awesome people though, every one I met. I left a letter with them before I left, telling them so. Wonderful Aurora, I would stay again just to feel it!

Good basic hotelGood points - Clean - Good breakfast - Polite and helpful staff - Near several bus stops - Good quality-price ratio To improve: - Everyday same buffet for breakfast - Daily cleaning of the room not to my standards - Noisy customers and no good isolation

Nice changeWe have stayed here before as its a lovely location and the hotel is very modern and clean. We eat in the restaurant underneath and gardens behind the hotel that can be entered either from within the hotel or via a wooden alley to the right of the hotel. We were met by Niki (not sure of spelling) who looked after us admirably and with genuine interest in our needs and life. Velco (again not sure of spelling) was the chief and my god can she cook. The food was excellent, well presented and to say large quantities would be like saying a mini bus is like a double decker bus. The meat platter, like a mixed grill, I had would have fed 4 people for sure. Our Bulgarian friends were with us and Polly says Kaloyan can eat the doggy bag we took for a week as she was leaving him home alone visiting her parents with the two boys, Andrew and Nickolay. This morning there was a bit of trepidation about the breakfast as our last review was not the best. We are very happy to report that they took onboard my comments as the breakfast was great, orange juice, cereals, toast, and I concockted ham egg and tomatoes (English Breakfast) tea (Twinings but English Breakfast was missing, but I had a secret supply in my pocket, Tetlys) and coffee were both plentiful, and the lady serving was very pleasant and helpful. Well done for upping your game I'm sure it will be appreciated often.
