  Extremely spacious

  We were traveling from Slovenia to Roumania on M7 highway and decided to overnight in Zalakaros, not far from our way. Very quiet, quality spa in the house, nice staff, a rich breakfast, you can use wi-fi, welcome champagne. Very good quality/price ratio.

  Correct accomodation in a retro package

  We were travelling fom the Croatian coast to our home in eastern Hungary. Our aim was to break the lengthy drive by staying at a comfortable hotel. We selected this hotel from the list of smaller affordable hotels in Zalakaros because of its wellness facility. We arrived at half past five, and learned that the wellness closes at 18.00 (it opens at 9.00). Check-out at 10.00 is ridiculously early, the only way to extend stay is to buy extra time until 13.30 for 3000 HUF/person. So if you are the average transit guest, you cannot use the pool and wellness (and change in your room afterwards), unless you are willing to pay a lot more to the already high base price. Otherwise the rooms are large and comfortable with good air conditioning that can be sensitively adjusted. Not a modern facility, but it is kept clean and tidy. Good kitchen, simple but tasty courses were served for a buffet-style dinner. Good breakfast with a wide variety of fresh fruit. Attentive and kind waiters and staff.

  excellent

  Very friendly staff, room cleaned well, breakfast excellent and brilliant situation for me to get about dead easy to get to walked all about not far from the beach and same distance to main shopping areas malls etc and bars and clubs easy to get everywhere trains very close and beach bout 15 min walk staff very helpful and always ready to help there is security as a mall 1 min from hotel and hospital an other min next door was very glad to stay there and brilliant views over the city would go back

  The SPA saved the trip

  Big room but poorly furnished, the tiles were just wrong. A scent was . Dirty bathroom Had dinner and breakfast included, both were very poor quality. Price for drinks was decent. Free pool and foosball table. Overall sad atmosphere throughout the hotel. Expected more from a 4 star hotel. The spa was truly relaxing. Enough space to accommodate guests comfortably. Many times had to wake up in the middle of the night because of the dogs present in the hotel.

  Somewhat disappointing

  The hotel's location is nice, pretty quiet at night and we had witnessed the wonderful sunrise. The room is spacious, nicely decorated, and so are the community areas. Most of the staff is extremely nice, but there are also ones who are rude. This shouldn't occurre in a 4 star hotel, although I think they awarded themselves with the stars. The breakfast is tasty, but the "coffee" is the worst I ever had in a hotel, and I stayed in several hostels even, decades ago. The dinner is ok, definitely not a 4 star quality. The wellness part is nice, the pool and the other facilities are clean, and apparently well maintained. What I definitely was missing ( as we are speaking about 4 stars) Coffee, tea and maybe some water (the tap water is strange) in the rooms, free of charge. There is a mini bar but even if you drink every soda from it you still stay thirsty. Toiletries, the fixed soap and shampoo containers just look cheap and simply disappointing. The air ventilation in the bathroom is extremely loud and in our room you could hear the one from the neighbors as well. I'm not sure about going back.
