Worth the priceThe Vintners Inn (now called Vintners Resort) is an oasis just north of Santa Rosa near the heart of Sonoma County wine country. Conveniently located immediately off of Highway 101 but you would not know it was so close because of their expertly designed landscaping and their somewhat European, separately placed one- or two-level buildings. Lots to see and do here. Someone put a lot of thought into the layout. Very relaxing place to stay for several nights. They recently expanded the Inn with a spectacular spa which probably prompted them to change the name to a resort. Rather pricey, but worth the splurge for special occasions. Weve been there over a half dozen times and will return.

Lovely hotel, rooms, restaurants and ambiance! We stayed at the Vintner's Inn by mistake - and couldn't have been happier! The rooms were lovely - ask for one overlooking the fountains. There was even a small room with tea all day long where we played cards in the evening and a fireplace (It rained the whole time we were there so the warmth was welcome.)The front desk staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The food in all the restaurants was outstanding. We will go back in warm weather to experience the rest of the amenities!

Not the SameWed stayed here several times but it has been years. The new spa is wonderful, the services unique, the site lovely, and my therapist Monica, very good. The remodeled rooms with their modern fireplaces lack the charm of the old buildings. The walls are thinner. The bathroom is large and well-appointed though we could never get the fan to turn off even after calling for engineering. The staff were mostly friendly, and the rooms were very clean, but they lacked the personality and warmth that we remember.

Fireplace King Room With a Balcony and Vineyard ViewThis was our third time staying at the Vintners Resort, and first time in one of the new buildings. I cant decide which I like better. The resorts buildings are arranged to resemble a Tuscan village. The original section of the resort oozes charm, with ivy covering the walls of the buildings. The newer section has a more contemporary feel with more contemporary furnishings. You cant go wrong with either, but I think I prefer the newer buildings (numbered 800 & 900) because of the bathroom. It is stunning. A spacious walk in shower. Double vanity. And separate water closet. We always book a king bed with fireplace. This type of room means you will be on the second floor and will have a small balcony. We had coffee on our balcony every morning and enjoyed the quiet sunrise and vineyard view. It was exactly why we were visiting the wine country . . . . such an ambiance. The Vintners Resort is owned by the same family that owns Ferrari Carano winery. If you have visited the winery, you know they know how to bring the charm and elegance. A welcome bottle of their wine is provided in each room. It is complimentary, along with water and soft drinks. Take a glass of the wine with you and wonder though the resorts vineyard for a pleasant walk. The resort takes COVID precautions seriously. The bathrobes are sealed in plastic, as are the ironing board and iron. Housekeeping does not come into your room during your stay unless you call and request something. If service is requested, housekeeping will come only when you are out of the room, for contactless service/delivery. The resort is pricey. But, ooohh, those extra fluffy towels and soft bed are worth it. Be sure to look for specials or email the resort and inquire, because with COVID, entertainment restrictions and the fires, occupancy is down and they are offering some fantastic deals. The spa is closed until restrictions are relaxed by the county, so we missed out on services, but we look forward to returning to enjoy the spa, and some more of this beautiful resorts hospitality.

Quiet, beautiful oasis in Sonoma!A wonderful stay over several days while in Sonoma wine country. They have some nice specials right now that should be taken advantage of. The grounds are stunning, even though the Bocce Courts and Asia are closed. Also their all day restaurant is closed. This did not stop us from having a great stay. Pool area is open and very quiet during the week. Walking thru the vineyards each morning is very cathartic; we hope you enjoy it as much as we did. The rooms are older, as this resort has been here for a long time. With that being said, they are still wonderful, particularly the bed! Nicely stocked mini bar also included with your stay. Our Roman tub was the bomb. We used it as much as possible. John Ash & Co. (see separate review) is part of the complex and should not be missed for either happy hour or a wonderful dinner experience. This resort is directly off Hwy 101, but we did not hear any noise while in our room. It is centrally located just north of Santa Rosa and is very convenient to wineries for visits and tastings. We highly recommend this establishment and hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
