A little piece of heavenWe arrived at the end of a long and winding road in a thunderstorm and were immediately welcomed with a drink and cake, no better way to start a holiday!! Our apartment was very clean and large with fabulous sea views from the huge balcony. If you want remote peace and quite this is the place for you but definitely rent a car or you will either be stuck there or spend a fortune on taxis and the island is well worth exploring. Petra and her staff were so helpful and any minor issues we had were resolved very quickly. Thank you Petra for a wonderful stay.

Perfect and wonderful and everything we could wantJust returned from a week-long stay in a corner Panorama Turtle Island studio and we loved it. The property is beautiful and massive and peaceful. Sitting on the terrace and enjoying the view was something we did every morning and evening. And being able to walk down to the pool or down to the beach was so easy. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the equipment we needed to prepare our breakfasts and the room was clean and comfortable. All my interactions with the staff (pre-arrival, arrival, and departure) were problem-free and I can't recommend this property enough. I know we will be visiting Zakynthos again and we truly hope to stay here again.

Great holiday in uncertain timesWe family of three stayed at Villas Cavo Marathia for one week in August 2020. When planning our trip, we had several communications with the owners, and they were very friendly and helpful and answered all our emails instantly. We also chose the rental car offering that were proposed by them. They also showed full flexibility in case the COVIT situation would prevent us from travelling . We stayed in the Family Galerie which offers a real nicely furbished and clean apartment on two levels and great views from the terrace. The property is very quiet, and you can really enjoy your time. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There are good recommendations and tips in the booklet available in the apartments. Both the tavernas nearby are really good. Katerinas place in Keri is a real good recommendation. We had stayed on the island a few years before doing most of the highlights like the ship wreck beach and others. So this time our focus was really on visiting beaches. We went to different beaches every day mostly following the recommendations in the booklet -Gerakas beach - sandy, very warm water, quite but no facilities we used the parasol from Villas Cavo -Kalamaki beach near the airport - sandy, good infrastructure, rent a SUP or paddle boat, nice Taverna, certainly crowded -Banana beach cool music and water sports, luxury sun beds -Porto Limnionas definitely a highlight for us the water was refreshing in hot temperatures, swimming and snorkeling through the rocks, our kid loved climbing and jumping down. A nice change from sandy beaches -Porto Roxa similar like Limnionas, the fiord is smaller but there is more infrastructure -Makris Gialos we also enjoyed this beach for a change with small pebbles instead rock or sand. Nice Taverna there and also sun beds to rent and SUPs and canoes. If you like bouldering (like our sun) you can do so at the right-hand rocks and from there jump into the waters. -Porto Azzurro beach quite organized be there early enough to get sun beds! The only downside is that you have to drive around 30-45 minutes (or even 60 for Makris Gialos) to get to these places. We did not go to the nearby Marathias beach maybe because our kid wanted either sand or rocks to jump from. A special highlight is the small private beach of the Villas Cavo Marathia: It is very nice to walk down and then take a swim along the coast on the right-hand side e.g. to reach the little rock island around the corner and from there watch the yachts and boats visiting the thermal springs and the beach there. Regarding COVIT we felt fully save in Villas Cavo Marathia with all the hygiene regulations in place and taken seriously. It was very clean and always kept clean, the swimming pool was regulated (only 2 persons at a time) and the property it is spacy enough to keep distance. We definitely recommend Villas Cavo Marathia for enjoyfull holidays on the beautifully island of Zakynthos.

Great panoramic aparthotel excellent viewsHaving just comeback from a 5 nights stay at this lovely aparthotel in Marathias, I already feel sad that I cannot have the panoramic view across the Laganas bay to admire on a daily basis. We stayed in the XL studio, which was more than comfortable for 3 of us. The studio kitchen was kitted out nicely for the event of needing to make light meals. There was a toaster, kettle, hob and fridge. The bathroom was larger than usual. The balcony was the highlight for me. The views are breathtaking over Turtle Island and the bay. Rooms was serviced There was complimentary coffee and cake in the morning from 8:30 to 10:30 The hobby room was a major plus for us too. Table tennis, pool, books, tv and DVD player so its safe to say that we were never bored. The pool area was pleasant but for me this is where it felt like it fell short - the pool itself is not large and was painted. I think if it was tiled it would feel a lot better. Petra was wonderful and very helpful We took the truck down to the private little beach, take good shoes to walk down and back up- but well worth it. Overall, it was a wonderful little gem away from it all. You will need a car to stay here, it is 3km from the main road and some of the stretch of road is very winding and small but dont let this put you off! All good things require that extra bit of effort.

Mixed feelingsThis is the perfect place for absolute seclusion. Its at a dead end so you wont hear a car or a motorbike, and even the guests tend to be quiet and respectful of the feeling of piece. To get there you need to be comfortable driving in narrow and steep roads though. The rooms are wonderful. Very spacious, with local Greek architecture and views that are just stunning. The pool is really small, but we knew that from the pictures. 10 mins walk and theres a really pretty beach and a great taverna To Votsalo. The rooms are self-catering and theres the usual mini kitchen that you find in most places. I found the management style of the place a bit heavy handed for my liking. On our 3rd day we found a note under the door asking to settle to bill. We thought nothing of it and just did. On the next day another note asking to pay the hotel tax and a reminder that its almost time to go (we had 3 more days) and the details of checking out. On our last day a call at 10am to remind us that check out is at 11. I mean I get it that theres a business to run but I havent come across this before and it was a bit of a mood killer. The owner was very polite when I offered this feedback so perhaps other guests might be spared. So all in all some great things and some not so great. We loved Zakynthos and will definitely be coming back!
