  Pleasant stay in an authentic village

  The "hotel" consists of several old renovated houses in the small alleys of the village centre, so you really live between the village people, who are very kind. The houses are beautifully renovated, are very clean and have all the comfort you need. They generally have a lot of stairs, either to enter the house, either to get to the second floor, so they are not fit voor disabled people. The "hotel" offers no food. You get coupons to have breakfast (basic Italian breakfast) in one of three bars near the houses. There are some very good and very cheap restaurants close to the houses. We can definitely recommend the Villagio Vecchia, specially for the feel of staying in the middel of an authentic village. We would surely go back there again.

  You really could live like a town inhabitant for a while

  You should rent an apartment in town center, there are many. I chose one really nice two floors place, wooden inside furniture, conditioned air system, kitchen... I was with my partner, a really good choice for a couple or even a little family. I obviously could say nothing about all the others apartments, but mine was great.

  Perfect in every way...

  I was very sceptical when I booked because the price was so enticing. I thought there might be something wrong. However, my friends in Mottola told me not to worry "this is totally fine". Were they ever right! My "room", a small bachelor apartment, on a pedestrian street in the middle of the historic district, was perfect in every way. A beautiful barrel vaulted stone ceiling, dark wooden furniture hiding a small kitchenette, small functional bathroom and complete privacy. I could not have asked for more. The added bonus of the "reception" located in a storefront dedicated to local delicacies and wines was very nice indeed. As was the friendliness and kindness of the owner. Within a 2 minute walk, right and left, one finds two "Salumeria" where local cheeses and meats can be bought for a quick and affordable nibble. I absolutely LOVED my stay in Mottola.

  Very good and clean accommodations.

  Individual units spread out in the centre of the village. Close to everything the town has to offer since everything is accessible within walking distance (the town is very small). Our stay included breakfast vouchers for the nearby café that had the best variety of croissants and pastries and made the best coffee for our morning collazione. Although the bathroom and shower is very small, I would recommend this option for a stay in this quaint village. I have family that lives in Mottola and will return here on my next trip. I prefer to stay in a place on my own when the accommodations are this good vs staying with family.

  Second Visit!

  These small apartments in the old centre of town, could not be more perfect. Charming architecture, comfortable surroundings. Value for Money is huge. Our second stay in less than a year did not disappoint. Would go back immediately if we could.
