Lovely Family Resort Jewel Tucked into the Italian CountrysideMy husband and I went to Villaggio Emmanuele for our honeymoon. We had a delightful time. The staff was accommodating and friendly, in particular Ernst, Philip, and Montao (totally butchered his name there!). Tucked into the Italian countryside, the resort has lovely grounds, clean and well maintained. The rooms were spotless. They had many walking paths to meander down and "huts" to sunbathe in. A word of caution for Americans: towels are not complimentary like in the States! You get an extra set of sheets and one roll of toilet paper; any additional toilet tissue you must purchase. There are many small grocery stores within walking distance boasting homemade breads and pizzas and carrying any kind of item you might require (hello, toilet paper!), along with several farmers markets. The food was wonderful!! I definitely recommend the Prosectto wine and the pizzaria! Low key, yet elegant dining. The only downfall was that everyone spoke Italian and nobody spoke English, except for Philip and Montao. Despite the language barrier, everyone was so sweet and helpful! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here! The beach frontage was lovely, begging a leisurely stroll. Sunset was gorgeous, and the glistening sea was the perfect backdrop. The programs (something new and creative every night, from skits, to interactive games, to dancing) everyone appeared to thoroughly enjoy, kids and adults alike. We were blown away by how family orientated the programs, resort, guests, and staff were. It was most refreshing to see emphasis put upon families and growing them closer together, rather than parents dropping the kids off at a kiddy daycare in pursuit of more 'adult like fun'. It did my heart good to see families and children being made a priority and being celebrated in a healthy way. The resort has an impressive pool with a poolside bar. The bartender, the extremely talented Montao, has many incredible drinks and bartending tricks of his own creation. He mixes a divine pina colada, and if you like mint, he has this amazing drink that he lights on fire! He sure knows how to shock and awe! All in all, despite the language barrier, we would definitely go back. Everyone was so sweet and kind and tried so hard to communicate with us, whether through Google translate or the time honored and oft amusing game of charades. We have many fond memories of our vacation. We loved our time here at Villaggio Emmanuele; you will, too.

This resort was not to the usual standard we expect from our timeshare apartmentThe apartment was very damp and mosquito ridden the furniture was very basic and like something from the 1970s. When we arrived there was no bed linen for us the bed Was bare not very inviting. There was no way of lighting the cooker, and no air conditioning, just ceiling fans

The standard of the room was poor and the beach next to the resort was strewn with litterThe room was damp and needed airing but the fan that was in the room was noisy and not attached correctly to the ceiling so did not help. Also leaving the doors open meant we were inundated with mosquitoes. When we arrived the toilet was broken and took two days to be repaired after several complaints. If you do not buy beach chair rental, you are not allowed to sit on the beach with a towel.
