Great views, great onsen and great food!

A spacious 4-room apartment! Big living room! Quiet and relax! Have staff that speak reasonable English and Mandarin at reception, helpful! The kaseiki dinner is of high quality, wagyu beef, lobster, fish and Japanese side dishes are exquistely presented. The buffet breakfast has western and Japanese traditional cuisine, nice! The onsen experience is great, our first! Not too crowded. The outdoor pool is lovely at night with nature view of far mountain sihouette. Overall, a very pleasant 2D/1N stay

A good place for an onsen experience

One of the reasons we travelled to Japan was experience the Japanese way of living. There's no better way but to get immersed and that is thru this ryokan hotel in Izu. Looks like all rooms in this hotel was with a view of the ocean, and ours had a very comfortable living room, dining room and a service kitchen. We had two bedrooms with conventional beds but we did not sleep on them. We tried the room with the tatami mat and slept on futons. We had a very comfortable sleep considering that the spring weather was very conducive to relaxing! Dinner was delectable. We enjoyed the sashimi and the shabu-shabu! Hotel Village Izukogen is a very nice place to experience the onsen. After a tiring day, it was nice to retreat to their indoor onsen. Even my son who swore that he would never go naked was enticed to try it!!! Very clean place and the shampoo/body wash in the bath area were very poised! I love the scent. I tried the outdoor onsen even on a very cold night but it really warmed my heart and being to just have experienced it coupled with a very beautiful spring evening backdrop. I'm loving the onsen experience that my husband and I tried it in the comfort of our own bathroom in the room the following day.

Beautiful resort on the Izu peninsular

Stayed here for 2 nights on our last visit to the Izu Peninsular.. this property is situated on the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula, on a hill top so it offers you splendid views of the sea! Check in staff were really helpful and excellent and spoke very good English so there was no problems communicating with them. Checking in was fast and seamless. Without a car, I think this place would be really inaccessible but if you are intending to drive, its not a problem at all. We used this as a base to visit Shuzenji and even went all the way to the western coast and back.. takes just slightly over an hour to drive from the east to the west. Breakfast was good. Mainly Japanese style breakfast but good variety. Onsen was decent.. little bit tired looking but still refreshing once u jump into the hot spa. Swimming pool was heated and with a very attentive life guard watching over u. Room suites were large.. just like an apartment size and comfortable enough for a family of 4-6. Love this property and will come back again!!

Cant fault hotel lovely place and apartments are huge , only Giving 2 stars Due to "Discrimination refused " access into swimming pool at 8pm due to having Tattoos Both myself and wife were asked to leave before we could get passed changing room and asked to cover up and leave , And I was told had to get a swimming cap for my hair ? if this place is gonna be hosting the Olympics in 2 years time a big wake up call is coming , We were also told on arrival they don't do food and the nearest place was 2km away , Bare in mind we have been in japan for nearly 2 weeks and started in Osaka , KYOTO and Takayama and have had No issues with ink , Very disappointed and felt quite upset after this Incident Please.avoid if you have any ink and want to use the swimming pool or Onsen To avoid embarrassment to yourself . Other than that it's a lovely place to stay .

Good location. Nice rooms but in need of renovation.

The standard rooms are large condominiums with a living room, Japanese style tatami room, bedroom, and kitchen. They are in need of serious refurbishment. Carpets are dirty, and our living room ceiling had a leak with water dripping onto the carpet throughout our 4 night stay. The views from all rooms are amazing as the hotel sits on the top of a hill. We had a minor problem with our kitchen. It was clear they had just plugged in the refrigerator just before our arrival as it was not yet cold. As a result some of our food went bad. It wasn't until the next day that it was cold. Be warned that they do not provide any kind a bell service, you're expected to bring all of your belongings to your room by yourself (extremely difficult when it's just you and a 3 year old). Also, if you plan on using the kitchen, it's best to reserve cookware and dishes in advance (¥1,100 each per stay) as they are limited. Another thing to note is that I would not recommend coming here by train, as the station is quite far from the hotel. Shops and restaurants too. Lastly, the beds are very firm and uncomfortable. Something to consider if you're a sensitive sleeper. I would highly recommend staying here if you can find a rate of ¥10,000 or less per night. Otherwise look for someplace else.
