  Superb

  Just arrived home after a week staying at the Village Inn... We arrived at night and any issues we had with our room were sorted out very quickly and ( it had been raining so we had a few to many centipedes for my liking) once sorted our room was very comfortable .... cleaners in most days and left clean towels if needed and clean top sheet maybe 3 times throughout our stay .... more than I do at home so happy with that. The pool was brilliant, never needed to worry about a sun lounger there are plenty and the actual pool was lovely and warm and we enjoyed a few dips. The delightful barking dog Micky that barked for about 30 mins throughout our visit was playing with the litter of kittens that lived in the roots of the tree, yes if you didnt get home until 6am and wanted to sleep then yes Im sure it was annoying but if you were up enjoying your holiday he was a wee character, happy to wander about minding his own business. The food was lovely some not to our taste but that wasnt a negative it was merely not our taste. Breakfast had a great addition of Manos ( pancake boy) who made fresh pancakes every morning along with fried eggs which he made us many... The staff/team are very versatile and if not waiting the restaurant then they are serving in the bar .... Vaso, Athena. Ilda the young man I forget his name .... all willing to help with anything .... and not forgetting gorgeous George the night guard who was always there to help.....friendly welcoming and a great wee team all led by the lovely Penny who goes above and beyond to do her best for those who need it.... nothing was too much trouble for her ... she knew all her guests and you could see the lovely relationship she built up with most, almost like a mother figure. This family ran hotel (I believe 2 brothers a mum and dad and Micky the dog ) is a lovely place to stay if your looking for a safe relaxing stress free holiday ..... would definitely visit again.

  This hotel is relly quite far our of the town.There is buses run to the beach but you never know when there cumming.Its 6 in a taxi.Hotel was ok,food was very repeditive,,every day was much the same.Theres no entertainment at all,day or night.Staff were friendly except for 1 lady in the dining room who would rather EAT the food and be on her phone than be interested on the clients.Rooms were cleaned every day with towels changed same,linen every 2nd day.Penny was excepional,,nothing was to much trouble for her.We were told it was 4,,,no way probably a 2+.

  This is my second visit to the Village inn Zante. There is one member of staff who is outstanding her name is Hilda. She has the right attitude, friendly and welcoming. The cleaners not good at all. Half the time they don't knock and walk straight in. They don't clean your room just push a brush round to make out they done it. You don't have aircon but if you want it you have to pay 5 euro a night for it. We had to have a window and the door open which was a joke. You had a dog barking nearby which kept you awake so we had no choice to pay for aircon to get a proper night sleep. If you want wifi you have to pay for it where I have not done this at any other hotel. The bathrooms am small and when you report a problem all you get is you can pay for a upgrade. We complained about a shower curtain. We also spoke to the jet2 rep about it and it was changed within a few hours. All they want is extra money off you all the time. They stop alcohol on last day at 12 which no other hotel that we have stopped in have done. We love zante and will return, but not to this hotel.

  Poor hotel

  I stayed with family and friends. Hotel first impressions: Bar area small, swimming pool good and friendly staff. You have to pay for air conditioning I believe is 5 per day. Internet paid 12 per day per device. Breakfast every day the same. Dinner average buffet. Bedrooms are nice I have found the bed comfortable and the size of the bedroom it is good. The bedroom has got a small sink, small fridge and a kettle and a small cooker. The toilet curtains were too big therefore covering the place that the water from the shower suppose to go down so what you have is a wet bathroom every single day. The heat was not too bad however a neighbour dog ( that did not stop barking) and the mosquitos are enough to keep you awake. I left after 7 days with a few bites on my arms, legs and face even though I bought a repellent. I would say I would not stay again because of the mosquitos and because you have to pay for internet and air conditioning.

  18th birthday & family holiday - you get what you pay for.

  I was really pleasantly surprised when we arrived (18th-25th September 19). Id booked this a year in advance to celebrate my sons 18th birthday, it was just the 2 of us & Id researched everything thoroughly. When we arrived we were greeted by Penny (receptionist amongst other job roles) & informed we had been upgraded to a maisonette studio as we were celebrating my sons birthday. We had a lovely view of both the pool & the countryside & were on the top floor. It was lovely & spacious, very clean & more than enough facilities for the 2 of us. The restaurant & bar were clean & adequate for the amount of people staying at the time, same with the pool & loungers, although I imagine in high season it could be a bit of a squeeze. The food was basic but edible, but I was expecting that as it is advertised as a basic 3 star all inclusive. The strip & beach are a good 30 minutes walk, but again we knew this when I booked. Please be aware as, like alot of Greece, pavements & street lighting are pretty scarce. A taxi cost 6 each way to get from hotel -strip/beach. Taxi each way airport-hotel was about 17 euros which I pre-booked through Zante Radio Taxis. ALL of the staff (without exception) were kind, helpful, friendly & always smiling. All of them worked at least 12 hour shifts every single day. Laganas strip was quite expensive but had plenty bars & clubs. Theres some lovely restaurants right on the beach but again they are very expensive. Theres a few supermarkets (best one directly opposite hotel) near hotel which have whatever you need & arent too badly priced. Theres a few restaurants near hotel which were nice & quite reasonable. Whilst we were there, there was a family of kittens with their parents who were lovely & tame & very well looked after by staff & guests alike. Also Mikey the hotel owners Dog is lovely & likes to wander the grounds & greet people. We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel & it certainly isnt anywhere near as bad as what some reviews suggest. I wouldnt recommend a young family or anyone who has mobility issues to stay here though & also advise everyone to thoroughly research the hotel & area before booking. We had an amazing time & ordered a lovely cake (through Penny) for my sons birthday. All of the staff are brilliant & the hotel, pool & facilities are clean & adequate for what people need. Also Abi (Jet 2 rep) was really pleasant & helpful too. If you are looking for a basic all inclusive on a budget, then I highly recommend booking this hotel.
