How to deal with a complaintWe have dined at the village Bury many times, and on the whole have been happy with the food and service, So it was disappointing on our last visit , that we had reason to complain about our meal , very poor steak, slow and unresponsive service. However, the manager Jack Hughes, deserves 10/10 for the way he handled it. He was apologigetic, seemed genuinely interested in our feedback and treated us like valued customers. His intervention, secured our future custom, and willingness to accept it was a one- off.

Village hotel stayIt was mine and my partners first time staying here. We had to change rooms 3 times, because of dirt in the shower and then tv not working. Jade the receptionist was amazing! The customer service and the professionalism she presented to me and my partner during our stay was outstanding and she was the main reason why we didnt leave. A big Thankyou to jade. Also we missed breakfast this morning and Mike the hotel manager paid for our breakfast in Starbucks which we are extremely grateful for! So after our room swap 3 times and getting our full refund back we left with a smile.

Birthday treat!Wife's birthday, tier 3 lockdown, how can I make it special?.... I know, a little trip down the road for a nights stay at our local hotel. So glad we did! A break from the (new) norm for a night. From the moment we walked in, we were met with a big smile and help from a lovely lady at the check-in desk. With cleanliness now at the fore front of all our minds too, I was really happy that our room was actually spotless! We had booked a table at the bar&grill for 7pm, and even though we turned up 30 minutes late, the staff were still welcoming and happily showed us to our table. The steak was massive and the kids ate every bit of their kids meal! They loved that they were allowed to take the ice cream dessert pots back up to the bedroom too! Back upto the room with the ice cream and some popcorn... kids were happy, wife was happy. We all got a good nights sleep, and the mattresses were that comfy my Daughter even commented that she never wanted to get out of the "comfiest bed in the World!" The full English breakfast was brought to us on a tray in the restaurant with everything we could need. There were cocopops, croissants, yoghurts, toast, drinks and even jams for the kids too! To finish off our impromptu break away we enjoyed a family swim in the big pool. We got a locker and could use the family change with private rooms which had a shower in them too. All in all I'd highly recommend doing this as a treat. Who would have thought a simple night away in a hotel on our doorstep would bring such excitement! The kids loved it and it was a nice birthday surprise for my wife. The hotel was very clean throughout, the food was good, the bed was comfy, the staff were happy and helpful. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to our family and friends!

Visit during COVID 19We visited during tier 3 times. I downloaded the app and checked in via this. The lady on the desk was super helpful and activated a key card for me. We booked a slot to go swimming at the spa (incredibly unhelpful young girl on the desk who did not seem to know anything or simply care) for the following morning. We decided to eat elsewhere for the evening as the bar was super busy but on arrival back to our room found the noise levels next door to be very loud. Someone was playing extremely loud music and singing. I decided to go downstairs and ask to move rooms. The lovely lady with green hair kindly upgraded our room to a club room which she did not have to do nor did we expect this. The club room was much bigger with sky on TV, nicer showers & bigger beds. They are at the back of the building in a much quieter part of the hotel. I would highly recommend these rooms. Thank you village hotels - great service.
