    Peace perfect peace

My normal idea of a break is to find somewhere with loads to do and see. Though after a stressful time over the last few months, all my wife and I wanted was to chill out, do nothing and relax. We couldn't have picked a better spot, unfortunately we only had 3 days / 4 nights. We lay by the pool and read and slept. Beautiful peaceful surroundings. Birds chirping, cocks crowing, goat bells ting a linging. Nirvana. Jutta couldn't have been more helpful. However a car is required because of the isolation. It's a couple of miles from the small town of Inca, which has some lovely shops and restaurants.

    Unwelcome guest

We stayed here for 7 nights after being on the island for 7nights already. First I would like to say that the Finca Hotel Son Olive was extremely clean and very efficiently run BUT I feel that the amount that we paid for a room was massively out of balance with what we actually got! To start with the hotel only run the air conditioning from they say 4pm to 11pm but we often arrived back early evening (630ish) and were the only ones there and the air conditioning unit wasn't turned on. This meant that by 1 in the morning the room was like an oven. The managements answer to this was to open all the windows. (Which we did but didn't work, but did let in all the bugs, which meant I was bitten alive) After a third night of no sleep due to the heat I asked the management if there is anything they could do (ideally turn the air conditioning on longer) but settled for a fan, which the management then made a massive point about how they had had to go all the way to town to buy a new one for me! This made me feel very uncomfortable. The beds were rock hard so made sleeping on them very hard. The management would let them selves into our room at points in the day, often to turn on the air conditioning but often without knocking at at several points it was embarrassing as I was partly dressed. This made me feel my room wasn't my own space. The over all feel made me feel like an unwelcome house guest rather than a paying guest and left me feeling a little unwelcome in what could be a lovely hotel.

    BE AWARE OF AIR CONDITIONING

Lovely location, well appointed suite. Pool towels, bath robes, refreshments, insect repellent machines all available at extra cost. Breakfast also available at extra cost and nicely presented and served. Mattresses in our suite rock solid. I loved mine as I have a back issue but my wife found hers uncomfortable - and I believe many would. Venue caters mainly for German clients to the extent that there is no room information in English, there is a small communal sitting room containing plenty of official information in most languages. Hosts speak good English but are reluctant to make any recommendations about local restaurants. You will need a car as there are no facilities nearby. Hosts do not like guests consuming non Finca-purchased refreshments in any communal areas where they provide a service. Suite lighting was dim. Described as having 'air conditioning' but NOT mentioned anywhere by the Finca or Expedia that THE GUEST CANNOT CONTROL TIMES OF OPERATION OR TEMPERATURE. The system is archaic and controlled by the hosts. Hosts will give a rationale for this fact but bottom line is IF YOU WANT EFFECTIVE AIR CONDITIONING ON YOUR TERMS avoid this venue. The hosts are aware of this issue but, I think, they are powerless to rectify it as (I was told) they don't own the property. Neither were they particularly empathetic, although we were given a mosquito machine free of charge and then free (I'm assuming) bath robes turned up a day later (we didn't use them as the room was too warm for us anyway). Had we known the FULL facts about the aircon, I would never have booked this place. I feel overcharged and misled through omission. For these reasons I cannot recommend it to anyone else which is a shame because it has potential to be great. I booked through Expedia and will complain to them about the lack of full facts about the Aircon. I will recommend three eateries in Inca: S'Angel, Suro, and C'an Am Amer. There is a public tennis court in Selva but the opening hours seem to be made up from day to day so we never got to use it.

    A small paradise

One thousand stars for: - amazing, delicious food with local and seasonal ingredients, a new menu every day - wonderful, warm, authentic, friendly owners and staff - a beautiful location, sitting quietly on the countryside, a vast property, beautifully decorated. You walk up to the hotel &restaurant and instantly feel very comfortable and welcome. - of course, the cute pets! - the "it" that I cannot describe. Every inch of the property, the hotel, the restaurant, the menu, the food, the atmosphere oozes Miriam and Jens' love and passion for this project. This place is nothing short of magnificent and I would highly recommend going here at least once (or every day of your stay, really).

Only pure vegan restaurant on Mallorca

Miri and Jens have created something that has to be experienced to be believed. She creates her food through and with her artistic talent encompassing cross cultural and cross country influences. A must for all foodies whether vegan vegetarian or committed meat and fish eaters. Perfect for kids too. Animals all around. Also perfect for a romantic evening.
