  Would stay again in a heartbeat...

  Went on an Aeolian Adventures 8 day holiday to the Aeolian Islands, based on Vulcano, visitng Lipari, Salina, Panarea, Stromboli as well as mainland Sicliy. The hotel was lovely, staff & owners were very friendly. It's not staffed all day but has no reason to be. The pool was v hot during the day due to the temperatures being so high, but was perfect early mornings & late evenings when we returned from our excursions, and we often went for midnight swims. My room was a family room with king size bed and a single, bathroom was big, clean, and with a fantastic shower. The beds were a tad hard and the pillows, but that's a matter of taste. Mini bar was always stocked and towels were changed every other day. Vulcano has no water source so it is shipped in weekly from the Italian mainland, but you'd never know as there was no shortage ever. Just remember never to drink tap water. I had a private veranda area outside my room with two chairs and a table overlooking the pool, as does every room. Wifi is a little temperamental the further you are from the hub, but no big deal during a relaxing holiday - you just move closer to it if you need it! The hotel provides a mosquito spray in each room so make sure you spray it before leaving every day (including in bedsheets!), and again when you get back - they can be nasty little buggers if you don't use preventative measures. Great little hotel with both ports nearby within an easy walk. There are plenty of restaurants and bars on the island. I'd highly recommend staying here. Taxis are also readily available. And if you're mulling over the idea of seeing the Aeolian Islands, and love food & drink, give very serious thought to going with www.aeolianadventures.com. I had the holiday of a lifetime and made new friends too whilst we learned to cook amazing Sicilian fare, visited vineyards, swam in the deep blue sea and watched volcanoes erupt. Simply breathtaking.
