FabulousVisiting Villa Queen in July 2017, was a really satisfying experience for our family of three. A nice roomy apartment with everything you need. Everything is nice and clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Every day, returning from the beach, we found fresh fruit and local pastry in the room, and the restaurant provides a nice and varied breakfast. The host - Jelena - is a whole special chapter. She obviously lives for her hotel and her sense of hospitality can best be expressed as overwhelming. There was really nothing she wouldn't do to help, with all kinds of problems. A few evenings she brought up wine and snacks for us, free of charge, and when she found out that our 12 year old daughter had her birthday along the trip, she presented her with a really sweet birthday present on the day we left. Generally you couldn't feel more welcome! We came in our own car, and had planned for days at the beach, mixed with days of driving around the main country, but ended up staying mostly on the island, due to one thing you have to concider. The only driveable road from the hotel, situated on the Okrug Island, to the main land goes through the small city of Trogir, and most of the daytime, it is packed - completely. The 1.2 km trip to the main land can take up to an hour! Its a 10 minute walk. Having said that, you can effortlessly go the other way, and drive around the island. There are a lot of nice pebble beaches on Okrug. A second bridge to the main land is in the making, and will significantly help the commuting problem. The charming ancient city of Trogir is very nice, and the restaurants are pretty good and affordable. A lot of tourists in July, but you can still find empty alleys, even when it's packed. We spent ten days at Villa Queen, and would concider coming back for another stay - only would probably choose to come outside of the main season. Both because of the busy city, but also prices is said to be different everywhere.

A nice apartment and excellent hostessIf you want to visit Trogir the Villa Queen is a good place to stay for a few nights, while you explore the area. The taxiboat is near by and there is a beautiful walk over the hill behind the Villa to Trogir. However - if you want to have a holiday where you relax on the porch enjoying the view or reading a good book, that is not possible. The road from Trogir is just outside the villa and there is a lot of noise from the trafic. Furthermore you have to walk along side the road to get to the beach, so be careful if you have small children. The apartment does not have equipment to cook. If you, occasionally, like to cook your own food you need to bring the equipment from home. There are service, plates and so on. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Even though i give the overall evaluation 3 - I have to give Jelana (the owner) 5 stars for her kindness to all the visitors. Coffee and fruit when we arrived, and a plate with ham, cheese and bread the evening before we left, and on the day we left - she came with a present. Again - if you want to spend time away from the apartment - and there is a lot to see in the area - this apartment is near the center of everything. We were there for 9 days.

Value for moneyClean rooms and friendly stuff. Breakfast ok. Boat transport to Trogir old town from 10min walk from hotel or alternative by walk some 20min (over the hill). Maybe could be some variations for breakfast. Road at the front of hotel sometimes busy and cars drives fast. Overall good value for money but slight improvements could make this even better.

Great accommodationFor the third time, we were staying at the Villa Queen and certainly not the last time. The apartments are in a great location, nicely furnished and extremely clean. The biggest praise goes to the owner Jelena and her staff. In them, we feel like a guest in the best sense of the word and, in our opinion, thay can be an example to many a tourist worker. Complimentary excellent breakfast, location close to the sea and the center of Trogir which we never gets tired of it. Highly recommended.
