Pleasant stayWe had a studio with a large balcony looking out over Lapad and Lapad bay to the right. The room was basic but very clean and had everything we needed. The Aircon was included and came in handy on the hotter days. The location is great, short walk to Lapad promendade with restaurants and shops and then lapad bay itself which has a pebble beach. Recommend following the coastal path and stopping for a drink at Cave Bar More which was a perfect setting for watching the sun set on the waters edge. 200metres from the villa is the bus stop, it is only a 10 min bus ride to the old town and they are very frequent and run to 1am, although they can be very busy and no one seems to know about queueing! Gruz harbour is only a 10 min walk, which is handy as this is one of the main pick up points for the boat trips. The owner of the villa was very friendly, spoke a little english and was very helpfull.

Good valueGood location near by beach area and restaurant street. Also near by food market and some small shops (shopping centre was near by also). Helpful stuff, but maybe, maybe a bit too curious. But definitely worth staying. Easy staying.

Clean & CozyThis place is just a short walk away from the shops/supermaket, restaurants, the beach in the area, & the bus stop bound for town. It is quiet & peaceful during the night. However, some party clubs with loud music could be heard if your window/door is left open. We had a very spacious room (bedroom, kitchen, dining, living room, toilet & bath, & a terrace) on the second floor with a nice view. The important thing lacking in the building is an elevator. It is a bit challenging to carry a heavy luggage up to the second floor and also going down by the time you checked out. But, overall we had a great stay @ Villa Perla. The manager/owner had let us stay until 4pm for our flight back home was at 8pm. We truly appreciate his kindness.

A very good place to stayA very good place to stay, if one does not need bar or restaurant services. Our apartment was very nice with a large balcony. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. Even water and juice were waiting in the fridge. Free use of washmachine. Close to the promenade, but with some steps. Special thanks to the owner!

Good value for moneyVilla Perla is a small, clean and generally quiet apartment hotel on the Lapad peninsula about 4 km from Dubrovnik old town. It is located a couple of hundred meters from the nearest beach and supermarkets and there is a reasonably priced car rental shop right across the street. There are restaurants all over the peninsula and a couple close to the hotel. The elderly owner and his wife seemed to run the place by themselves, but everything was kept in immaculate condition. Towels were changed every other day and bedding once during our one week stay. The well-equipped kitchen lacked only scissors and a dishrag. Free sparkling water and juice were waiting in the fridge. Our tourist guide said the water in the region is chalky but we found the tap water drinkable and didn't notice an aftertaste. Our bathroom was a bit on the small side but ventilated well. There was no hairdryer and only two small sachets of shampoo and a tub of handsoap were provided, so better bring your own toiletries. The air freshener in the toilet bowl was so pungent it could easily induce an allergic reaction (the smell was powerful in the rest of the apartment as well), but the cleaner doesn't put it back if you take it out and the smell dissipates in a couple of hours. The owner doesn't speak much English but enough to get by. He's very friendly and let us park our rental car in his three-car parking area. You'll be expected to pay the tourist tax upon departure (cash, both kunas and euros accepted), but don't expect a receipt. Most evenings there was a concert of sorts on the beach downhill, and the noise travels. Our room didn't face the beach so we were fine but you may need earplugs if your room is on the beach side. There is also a tennis court close to the beach that has a rather blinding light directed towards the hotel, but luckily the window shutters are sturdy and the light is turned off at around 9.30 pm. The area is an expensive tourist trap that I didn't particularly like (will not visit again) but still, I can recommend this hotel if someone is heading that way.
