    A Big Disappointment

Given the name and the four star rating, we expected a very nice, well run hotel but we were very disappointed. The hotel could be impressive as it was a beautiful home when built. But now it is shabby and run down. We arrived at the end of a two week trip so we had a lot of luggage. There was no bell man or any assistance offered to get the luggage up a small winding stone stair case. The room had no phone, only two thread bare towels, and one tiny bar of soap. The first day we came back at 3 PM to discover our room hadn't been made up. When we finally tracked someone download they said they forgot. Which brings up another issue--after breakfast each day, everyone at the hotel vanishes. So if you have an issue, you are out of luck. The rooms are rundown with furniture that is nicked and scratched, looking like it comes from a second hand store. The dining room had cobwebs all over the windows. Probably worst of all was a wedding party on Saturday night that had very loud music lasting until well after 1 AM Sunday morning. When we mentioned the next morning that we couldn't sleep, the manager just laughed. It wasn't a joke to us. On the plus side, the locations right across from the Baltic Sea and is quite beautiful. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance. The beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is pretty good. I am sure what other hotels are available in this area but this is certainly not worth the money. At best it's a poorly run bed and breakfast not a four star hotel.

    THIS HOTEL IS A MYSTERY

located about 30 minutes outside of Stockholm in the beautiful and upscale town of Djursholm, it has all the potential to be a 5 star hotel it's location , 50 yards from the water, is fantastic. the facility is a beautiful estate but that is it. at one time i'am told it had a fantastic restaurant and an active bar, but alas that doesn't exist. we stayed in an annex building which was clean , spacious and comfortable. the room didn't have a phone but since there is no front desk or visible staff, why would you need a phone !! it is almost like a haunted mansion and except for breakfast you never saw anyone from the hotel. even when we checked out, we just left because there was no one around to check out with. i think they do functions there. there was a wedding while we were there. i can't say don't stay there but be prepared for a bizarre experience.

    Need lots of improvement

Arrived to spend our 10 year anniversary and had to "check in" at the bar where no one said welcome or even hello, just ushered us into what looked like a delivery elevator that didn't work so she said " you can take the stairs"..... Our room was ok but was very cold when we arrived, the fridge was also broken so we had to request a new one so we could put our champagne in. After showering the power went and we stood in pitch darkness in our underwear. There was no information about phone numbers to reception, when breakfast was or anything so we used our own phones to call the hotel to try and fix the power.... The lamps were broken and hanging on the side and there was only one towel and a tiny bar of soap in the bathroom. When we asked the same women if our reservation at the nice restaurant in town was ok she said, talk to the guy in the kitchen. We spoke to him and it turns out he hadn't done it. I then had to call the restaurant myself and they were full. I got really angry at this point and said he had to sort it out. Which he actually did, thank goodness. Breakfast was cold and there were hardly anything to choose from. When we left no one said thank you or goodbye. The grumpy woman glared at us..... Don't stay here. They need a complete new management and lots of upgrades to the interior. Lovely surroundings.

    Slow service and disorganised

I have nothing good to say I tried to contact via email with no reply. Then phone calls with poor responses. So then went there as I was looking to book for over 100 people. Staff who I had tried to email and had spoken to I then talked to. Still poor responses. So didn't book.

    Simply fabulous.

We (2 adults and 2 children) were invited to a wedding and stayed 2 nights at Villa Pauli. The room was very spacious, with a huge comfy king size bed and enough space for 2 extra beds for the kids. Breakfast was superb: rich and healthy. The staff was always very helpful and fast to respond, whether we needed a taxi or an iron. There also is a tennis court outside which we used during the stay. As I said before simply fabulous and stunning.
