Yeppoon RevisitedOur parents involved us in their Seachange thing so I spent my early teens in Yeppoon. Back in the late 50s and early 60s this shabby laid back little farming and holiday place was good and awful (Goodawful?) But Villa Mar Collina represents the best of the new Yeppoon. The apartment and views from our enormous balcony were stunning. Sunsets and sunrises were as breathtaking as I remembered and Keppel Bay clearer and cleaner than ever. Very little of the original area remains but it was just so good to see that a few of my favourite things are exactly the same. Base yourself at (new Yeppoon) Villa Mar Collina and explore old Yeppoon. History and best of old Yeppoon: the creeks and waterholes have a few flakes of gold, I wonder if they make icy frothy spiders like I made for daytrippers at Cooee Bay kiosk and The Causeway kiosk, try watermelon and prawns at night on Kemp Beach and splash the sea edge to set it on fire in mid summer, be charmed by the tiny Uniting church at Emu Park. That place was Poverty and Deprivation Central. Hope the grandkids got mining jobs and own all those flash houses now. Cheerful child labour, every time I could from 13 to 16, I loved working at those kiosks, teaching the nursery class at the chapel and swimming at Kemp. Mining has pushed the prices up I have seen travellers whinge. So whats wrong with a bit of cashed up? Anyway, Villa Mar Collina is good value. I will definitely be back to enjoy the area based in a Villa Mar Collina penthouse.

Great location and outlookAs a family, we recently stayed here for four nights. We were late to book during school holidays but the deal was fair. Check in was easy and the units are at the top of the main hill in Yeppoon, and only a 5 minute walk down the hill to the Main Street and shops. The design of the units are large and spacious. Good solid kitchen. Overall a little dated by new standards but very very comfortable. Probably the best views on beach in town. Great pool for a dip. Only issue we had was it was very windy most of our stay and due to the age of building a lot of the doors had a fair bit of play in them so to get the breeze in, the whole unit was very noisy. Hard to address... Overall, a great trip to Yeppoon for the first time and we would stay here again. Hope this helps.

a constant barrage of noisewe stayed there for a fri to monday period and were disappointed overall ,there were rooftop parties on both the fri and sat night and loud drunken tenants its seems this particular venue is used weekends for people to check in and hire the roof top apartment and then use it to party.

Dont pay for the penthouse!Paid $800 for two people for two nights in the penthouse, having seen what else you can get for this money on Airbnb I advise find somewhere else! Penthouse obviously used for rooftop parties, not cleaned properly (ping pong balls on floor- please god from beer pong and nothing else), toilets run, external lights not working, air con in master bedroom completely broken. Actually booked this room for our wedding weekend and ended up having to sleep in one of the small rooms out the back as aircon unable to be fixed and sea breeze very strong and noisy at front. Most disappointing thing and reason for leaving review, when discussed above with management, had call back (maybe owner?? Call came from off site) had very abrupt and unapologetic chat with grumpy woman who was not only rude to myself but also to my new wife on our wedding morning!!! When offered to come back for one night free stay, we explained we are not able to utilise this as we live 8 hours away, was offered no alternative and basically told to take it or leave it. We will leave it thanks due to your terrible customer service skills

2* facilities with a 5* price tagI think most people get upgraded to the penthouse after paying for one of the cheaper rooms, I can see in this instance what a pleasant surprise this would be due to the beautiful view, however I would not recommend paying the full rate for the penthouse, its run down and shabby and overpriced.
