    Malos olores

Horrible Location If You Are Arriving By Car

Villa Ivanka is a decent hotel in a good location.....unless you are arriving by car. In that case, you do not want to stay here. Our experience is that Trogir is completely overwhelmed with the cars and tourists that arrive during the summer and does not have the capacity to accommodate them all. The travel agency where you pick up the keys for Villa Ivanka cannot be reached by car, there is simply no parking available nearby to stop briefly to pick up the keys, and Trogir has some of the worst traffic jams I have ever seen (and I live in California, which is known for traffic jams!), so you can sit in traffic for hours simply trying to pick up the keys to the hotel and park. Had the hotel given us the address of their offsite parking area in advance (the parking area is located quite a distance from the hotel and from the most congested traffic areas), we could have gone there at the outset to park and then lugged our suitcases to the travel agency to pick up the keys. Instead, we spent nearly 3 hours stuck in traffic in Trogir searching for some way for us to park long enough to locate the travel agency, and once we finally did pick up the keys, then getting to the hotel's off-site parking. It was a terrible experience that marred an otherwise great vacation in Croatia. I can't recommend this placed you are coming by car.

    Very good highly recommend

After the arduous trip crossing the Adriatic on Jadrolijinas Marko Polo not recommended, although a very smooth crossing, we eventually docked in Split. We had decided not to stay in Split and having spent the morning sightseeing, it was a good choice to stay outside of the city; this was due mainly to the large number of tourists and the intense heat Having read some of the reviews regarding entrance to Trogir over the only bridge, we expected lengthy delays, but were pleasantly surprised as we did not encounter any traffic. We drove into the town and eventually found Kairos travel centre, where we had to check in and collect our keys. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and as we had booked a car parking space in a garage nearby, they phoned ahead to inform the owner that we had arrived. We were then escorted to our apartment, through the winding streets of Trogir to Villa Ivanka. We had booked an apartment and also a double room in Villa Ivanka and both were perfect for the time we were spending in Trogir. The location of the villa was excellent and situated right in the middle of Trogir, minutes away from the waterfront and the huge choice of restaurants; we ate both nights at Restaurant Kamerlengo which I would highly recommend. Both the apartment and double room were spotlessly clean and had efficient air conditioning, even in 35+ heat, and very well equipped, with everything (except a washing machine) in the apartment. It consisted of a bedroom area (which was not air conditioned and therefore quite warm at night) and a living area with double sofa bed and kitchenette, where the air conditioning unit was positioned; the rooms were both light and airy. The heat in the bedroom would not normally be an issue, but we experienced very high temperatures, even at night and although there were windows to open, at 07:00 the temperature was showing 28 and this did not drop during the night. Trogir was an excellent location and Villa Ivanka was a fabulous base. It was perfectly positioned right in the heart of the town, whilst the hotels in the area were mostly over the other side of the bridge on the neighbouring island of Ciovo. This proved invaluable when travelling about in a car, as to travel from Ciovo back to the main land, the traffic had to cross two bridges; one from Ciovo to Trogir and the other from Trogir to the mainland. This resulted in huge traffic jams leaving Ciovo in the morning and returning in the evening as all the traffic had to cross these small bridges, which were directed by the local Police during the day. This was obviously a major problem, as we noted that another bridge was being constructed from the mainland to Ciovo and therefore bypassing Trogir, which should alleviate some of the traffic problems. When travelling from Split, Trogir should not be missed. It is a delightfully quaint location with huge appeal and I would not hesitate to return again. I would defiantly recommend staying in Trogir and not Ciovo, not only for the potential traffic problems which may be encountered, but also staying in the heart of Trogir meant that is was easy to soak up the fantastic atmosphere, without having to travel too far back to the accommodation

    One night in Trogir

We stayed here our last day on our visit to Croatia. The villa is situated in the middle of Trogir, an old, charming building with perfect location. Nearby you will find all the restaurants, shops and sights but it is still a quiet place. The room was modern and very cosy. A bit small but clean and fresh and with air condition. The bathroom was a bit older and the shower quite small. The staff at the travel agency were so helpful, thoughtful and kind. We had some mail conversation before our trip and on our arrival day, they answered us straight away. On arrival we had a young man showing us the way to our apartment and also telling us where the airport transfer we had booked would pick us up. Early next morning we were picked up and everything went really smooth. Very good service thanks to Kairos travel. This place was suitable for a shorter stay and perfect before leaving for Split airport (drive took about 10-15 minutes). For a longer stay I prefer a balcony or terrace but this room was overall good and cosy.
