    Very Bad Hotel

We will never ever again book this hotel we rather sleep on the street than in this noisy and very unfriendly hotel. People dont even say Hallo, they give you the feeling that ok if you really want the room you can have it. Unprofessional, the receptionist a long hair did not even look at you when we were there and did not even ask if we would need help with the luggage. the only thing he said that we have to move the car right away. Noisy at night, children beds uncomortable, the breakfest was apart from the crossiants a disgrace. Depending when you got up you either had something left or not. Service Personal absolutly useless. We spend 300 EURO a night for one room with bath. Please avoid this hotel as the management should know that we are the clients and tha we bring the money and we should get a good service. The Hotel hass 3 stars I would give them 0 stars.Want a good hotel directly on the beach go to the Albatros in Varigott value for money. PS. Best would be to close this hotel down.

    Sting in the tail

This hotel is in a splendid location, centrally placed on the tree-lined promenade and a few steps from a gorgeous beach. It backs onto the pretty, narrow streets of Spotorno old town, so is convenient for strolling past shops and restaurants. Fairly recently renovated (I think), the hotel has lost none of its attractive, period features. Our room was magnificent - spacious and with a huge private terrace overlooking the promenade and the sea beyond. Pity the sun didn't shine more during our stay! We were given a warm welcome by efficient female staff - who had also been helpful via e-mail when arranging the booking. The food in the restaurant was excellent, with very good service from the female waitresses. All of the above made for an excellent short stay during our drive through northern Italy. The sting came in the last 30 minutes of our three day stay - at checkout. I would offer the following tips for the man (owner? manager?) who dealt with us as we prepared to leave: 1. When customers check out, professional hotels offer a fully itemised bill - not a scrap of paper with a hand-written total. 2. If customers insist on having an itemised bill, please prepare this with good grace - and make sure it is correct. 3. If customers notice one obvious mistake (for example a charge for lunch - when only dinner had been taken) on your reluctantly produced itemised bill, do not be surprised if they suspect there might be other errors. To other travellers - don't let these comments put you off staying at this otherwise excellent hotel. Just make sure that one of the efficient and helpful female members of staff is on duty when you check out.

    Nice place

This hotel quality, in my opinion, is higher than 3 stars hotel in Liguria. Nice room, very spacious, very clean. Staff is friendly and kind. Very nice position in front of the beach. Not so expensive for the area, but I stayed there in May, probably during peak season it is more expensive. The only negative note is the parking, a little far from the hotel and expensive. Breakfast is complete and it is possible to enjoy it in the garden.

Average hotel with a great location

We stayed for a week in this hotel. The hotel is placed centrally, just a minute away for the beach. The location is really great - in the front you have the beach, and going out from the back door, you directly enter the small streets of Spotorno's center with lots of bars, restaurants and shops. We arrived by car and we were offered a parking space for 10 p. night, which is located about 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel. We took the offer since there isn't really much places where you can park in Spotorno. The hotel looks really nice from the outside. A old villa with a nice garden and palm trees. The receptionist didn't speak much English so she called a waiter to translate. The room was small, but ok. With a big bathroom which was nice. The bad surprise for us was that the rooms do not have a balcony. Probably a few suites might have a terrace but most of the rooms have only a window. Basically, there is no place to dry your towels and swimming suits after a day on the beach. The WiFi is terrible. Basically, you can forget about it. You could get some signal on the ground floor but upstairs it wasn't possible to use the internet. The refrigerator in the room wasn't working. We told the hotel staff about this issue. On the next day they assured us that it was fixed, however it was far away from being possible to cool something in it. We've booked HB. The breakfast wasn't something exceptional, but was ok. Ham, cheese, hard boiled cold eggs, croissants, jam, some cereals and some fruits. A coffee machine was available for hot drinks but the quality was poor for the Italian standards. The dinner was also ok, with 3 courses. The desserts that were left over where served on the next day which gave a bad impression. Overall, the hotel is ok but one expects a bit more quality for the money paid.

    Fantastic stay at Villa Imperiale

Had been staying in July at this hotel. We enjoyed the stay a lot specifically due to: 1. Location - Excellent! the hotel is centrally located in Spotorno and the hotel has inside a exit where you can straight enter into the city center. Like going quick for a drink (aperitivo at night) you are already in the heart at the center and go to the bar pole / pole which is there in about 5-10m. 2. Rooms - Old style but very well kept, very clean and spacious. 3. Service - fantastic service by the hotel staff. very friendly and open to help! As well the hotel has about about 18 rooms and therefore it is a more personal approach. Also the guests in between had been always friendly and had a great company on the beach 4. Breakfast - very good breakfast in Italian style. The Brioche were very good and with good weather you could have your breakfast on the terrace in the entrance. I don't think any other hotel could offer that 6. Beach Access - we also requested beach access (2 sunbeds & 1 umbrella). Had to pay extra for about EUR 20/day. Again we just had to get out the hotel, cross the street and were at the beach 7. Beach - as it is a reserved beach for hotel guests only (also other hotels) it is more quiet and spacious. Enjoyed it as it was never owercrowded like others 8. Food / Half Pension - we didn't eat there but apparently the food was very good. I can't comment on this, but assuming it was always full each night the people enjoyed it! Specifically the could have the dinner in the terrace in the inside. 9. Parking was about EUR 12/day but it is a private parking just about 500m from the hotel. Was easily reachable and felt more secure with my parked car as it was a private parking. Specifically on the weekends it gets very crowded and people get desperate to find a parking space. White parking space is limited, max. 20min 10. Noise - can't confirm what others said because for us it was quiet and specifically after 11 PM we couldn't hear any loud music only disadvantages found: 1. Wifi - was generally working but when changing to a different room the connectivity wasn't so good. 2. Fridge in the Room - i assume these are already old integrated fridges as they take a long time too cool down liquids. Took often more than a day to get a bottle of water cold 3. Coffee Breakfast - they had a automatic coffee machine in the breakfast area. The coffee was acceptable but i wished somehow to get a good cafe or cappuccino from the real coffee like in a bar. Would have made a big difference but again not a big issue. Tips Spotorno: 1. Restaurants Dinner for a great experience: Ristorante Sirio (ask for a table on the beach, fantastic!; each Thursday they have a apericena event, up to 1000-1500 people there with club music), Ristorante Sigogna, Ristorante Primo, Ristorante Cipo (best Orata Ligurian type !), Piccolo Vallega 2. Lunch - quick & cheap lunch before going back on the beach - U Pasta (Pasta is really good!, go earlier before 1 PM as it gets quick full) & Bar Excelsior (have good panini or light lunch menus), Panificio Rotondo (very good focaccia!) 3. Sweets - Gelateria Rosanna Spotorno (gelati very good and have also crepes) - Krapfen di Cesare (sell also on the beach but only vuoto and nutella, they have them with White Chocolate, Nutella, Crema, Vuoto) 4. Aperitivo - Pole / Pole - right behind the hotel , when you open the exit you are already at the bar! go not too late as it is often super full!
