Beautiful sunset viewStayed here for 2 nights whilst island hopping round the Little Cyclades. We arrived on Donousa without pre-booking accommodation and room owners met the ferry. The rooms are only a short walk across the beach from the ferry but to get there by car you have to drive right round the village. We were shown to room 3, a decent sized room with twin beds, fridge and kettle and a terrace with a sea view. Theres also wi-fi and the restaurant of the same name is only a short walk across the car park. There was no air conditioning but as it was early June it was ok without it. We ate at the Iliovasilema for dinner both nights and thought the food was pretty good. It was also a great place to watch the sunset. When we were due to leave the owner gave us a lift back to the ferry - though it wouldn't have been difficult to walk back across the beach. I'd definitely consider staying here again if we ever return to Donousa.

Well located pensionThis a nicely located pension: close to the village and main beach, but out of the noise. The owner is very nice and welcoming. However, the rooms could be cleaned daily given the sand of the beach, etc. The wifi is not accessible from many rooms. Still one of the best hotels on a very small and nice island.

WonderfulThis is possibly a common trip advisor dilemma; I don't want to give this place (and the island) a great review because everyone will want to start coming here and it will become more difficult to book. Anyway, you have to consider the owners and their livelihoods and do your duty - in this case it was Christos and his lovely rooms. Superb spot up on the east of the town bay - good for getting into town, good for walking to the best beach and great for the sunsets sitting out on your balcony (although you need to be in the lower numbered rooms for the best experience of this). There's no aircon - but we didn't need it. Mossie grill on rear window, through draft, no problems. I always get bitten by mossies, but no problems late Aug / Sept. As for the island, don't come! It's too quiet for modern folks, honestly you don't want to experiance Greece the way it used to be when we used to come in the eighties. So stay away!

Don't expect luxury!!We stayed here for 5 nights on our island hopping holiday, it was our first stop. It all depends on what you are looking for when visiting some of the slightly more remote Greek Islands. We've been visiting Greece on and off for around 40 years and have visited many of the islands. The standard of accommodation and the actually island reminded us of the heady days of the late '70's. The accommodation is pretty basic, clean and well located and Cristos the owner is a great guy. If you're a very keen walker and happy to have a basic room which is just a base with no frills, then fine, but if you're looking something with any element of sophistication then either avoid or stay for just a couple of nights. The taverna attached to the accommodation offers good traditional meals which are modestly priced. But because the island is quite remote, then don't expect a wide range of dishes, it all depends on what's still available.

Great place to stay, on a lovely, tranquil island. Some reviews have commented upon the basic nature of the accommodation, but apparently some new studios have been added to the original ones and these are really of a good standard. The one we had was very spacious and spotlessly clean, with a fridge, mini cooker and plenty of kitchen utensils. It had a nice balcony with a view across to the port. Christos, the owner, is very helpful and committed to looking after his guests. Lifts from and to the port were much appreciated, especially given the tricky timings of the ferries.
