  VENIMOS A DESCANSAR, RELAJARNOS Y ENCONTRAR LA PAZ DE LA NATURALEZA

  Y sin lugar a dudas es el lugar para concentrarte, trabajar con el silencio y las vistas del lugar y al ser inviernos incluso solos. un lugar muy especial, cuidado hasta el mínimo detalle , con unas habitaciones muy bien doradas y cómodas y cerca de Hobart y otros lugares interesantes en Tasmania

  Just misses the mark

  The most beautiful setting, wonderful architecture and design but unfortunately is not well maintained and the food was also a let down. The grounds are not well cared for and dont appear to have been for quite some time. The restaurant was closed the night we stayed which was not advertised on their website. The breakfast was also not befitting to a five star hotel unfortunately, you were limited to 1 small portion. The eggs benedict were over cooked and the hollandaise sauce curdled. A shame as it is truly stunning but unfortunately it just does not reach its potential.

  Outstanding service and experience

  My husband and I recently stayed atVilla Howden to celebrate a special anniversary. We were made to feel very welcome and we enjoyed our stay. I especially wanted to comment on the very thoughtful return of a piece of jewellery I had left behind. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much..

  Like a beautiful step back in time

  We booked Villa Howden as part of our 25th anniversary trip from Queensland mostly because my wife LOVES the feeling of being in a glimpse of the past & it was perfect for that. Staying in the tower suite the view from out 'Juliet balcony' (my wife's words) was stunning, the claw foot bath perfect, the communal reading room and the sitting room around the open fire (with a telescope!) were wonderful. We didn't use the pool but we poked our heads in & it was a very usable temperature. Staff were very helpful. The coffee pods in our room were pretty terrible & not labeled in English which meant we didn't know what we were drinking. Also be warned that the tower suite does involve two flights of steep steps as there is no elevator (wasn't a problem for us but could be for some). Thanks Villa Howden!

  Service isnt 5 star

  Reading lots of positive reviews about the staff. We were there over the holidays so maybe their normal staff were away or else theres been a change of management, we had staff who couldnt answer our questions, didnt ask how we wanted our steak cooked, didnt give us our included drinks until we asked (needed to check even though its the same for everyone, was it their first time serving dinner?), didnt have what they needed to make cocktails, and written correspondence was slow and in broken english They did make an effort but I just get the impression they were new and it wasnt what I expected from a 5 star hotel. They actually seemed to have just one person doing everything themselves from early morning to late at night, with occasionally a second person to assist, so it must have been tough The pool door seemed to be shut during the hours it was meant to be open, managed to find a way into the building eventually, but there were no towels which were meant to be provided. Room didnt seem to have an iPod docking station either which was meant to be provided The grounds around the Villa seem to have been let go I did really like the Villa itself, its beautiful, and the view from the room was lovely. I just wouldnt pay normal price to stay there with the service levels we received.
