Great value for moneyWe stayed for 9 nights in June after loving the area so much the year before and chose this hotel as it was one of the cheapest with a pool around. Small family run place, staff were always helpful and friendly. Room was fine, clean, large comfy bed, shower was great, small space to hand and fold clothes. Only criticisms would be there is nowhere to hang wet towels/ swimwear other than two hooks- which doesn't work. Also no small fridge in the room and as they don't sell any food/ snack in the day this would have been useful. WIFI was actually really good both in room and by the pool - could stream Netflix no problems. Food - Breakfast is basic but sufficient, fresh pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit, tea and coffee. We ate diner here on the first night which was great, its a set meal which changes daily. Big portions, well worth the money. They don't serve any food/ sell any snacks throughout the day however you can get cold beer/ soft drinks/ water whenever you need. Informal way of paying for things - they just sort of add everything up that you buy (drinks/ dinner etc) without ever saying prices then you pay at the end of the trip - we refused to do this on day one which took a couple of tries. Staying for 9 nights just just wouldn't work for us. Outdoor area - The pool area was fab, access to the pool whenever you want, even late in the evening and night. Always sun loungers available both in the sun and in the shade. Location is great, 5-10 minutes from the train station/ ruins so a great base to explore. Also around 20-25 minutes into Pompeii centre which is full of beautiful architecture, fab bars and amazing restaurants - usually over looked by people staying but would highly recommend a walk down in the evening. Always bustling with people. The walk feels a bit unsafe for the first 5-10 until you pass the train station as its quiet and no-one else around but as your walking along the side of the ruins there are lights and cameras the whole way down. Top recommends for food in the town are: I- Matti - Cheaper Dinner (Pizza is amazing) Mercato Pompiano - Higher price point (Steaks and carbanara are unreal) De-vivo - Desserts/ ice cream Also, just 3 minutes walk from the hotel is a bar/ restaurant called So Zen Mediterranean and Arabian - they serve gorgeous food, often have entertainment such as Arabian dancers/ DJ and there are breathtaking views of Vesuvius. Bonus Tip - you can get food delivered there via UberEats App inc McDonalds. Handy as there aren't many decent lunch places nearby/ supermarkets/ fridge in rooms/ lunch on site. Bonus Tip - when visiting the ruins plan your route so that you end at the Villa of Mysteries, its the best preserved, most beautiful and always quiet plus you will then finish almost on the doorstep on the hotel. Would 100% recommend this hotel and stay here again in the future.

Villa Franca, PompeiiBudget villa right up the hill from Pompeii Scavii. Very big range of breakfast foods served by Papa. Lovely coffee and they ask if you are having dinner that night. Very good seven course meal for 10 per person. You get to share home made Lemoncello! Rooms are basic, with en suite shower/ bathroom, but very clean. The swimming pool is cleaned daily and surrounded by pots of flowers and lemon trees. If you speak Italian or French, its a bonus, as English is only spoken by the son. Booking is all in English through booking.com, travel from Naples is on the Circumvesuviano rail service which is local, cramped and nowhere really to store baggage. We negotiated a taxi to Naples Garabaldi Station to return to Rome on the fast train for 50 for three of us. We spent a week at Villa Franca visiting Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mt. Vesuvius. Would stay there again. Lovely friendly family!

Great location for a visit to PompeiiThis place is located very conveniently within a few minutes of walking distance of the main entrance to Pompeii. The room was clean and large enough with a quiet and well working AC. There is a small pool in the center. We took the dinner and it was amazing and came at a very decent price with some nice wine. Parking spaces are available and the owner was very kind and helpful. The only downside is the train that passes next to the house but there are not so many at night so it didn't really disturb our sleep.
