  Extraordinaria Villa Finzi

  Hace poco acabo de pasar cinco maravillosos días en Villa Finxi. Lo más excepcional fue la calidez de nuestros encantadores anfitriones Francesca y Marcello. Los cuatro que éramos nos sentimos como miembros de su familia. De hecho nos intercambiamos varias confidencias en poco tiempo. Fueron una constante fuente de ayuda y consejo en todos los asuntos. Marcello mostró sus excelencias como chófer y guía turístico, aunque me hubiera gustado persuadirle de que se comprase un coche de cuatro puertas. Recuerdo con particular placer los agradabilísimos paseos matutinos con Marcello y sus dos perros por la fabulosa campiña, encontrando raras orquídeas y setas comestibles. Dormí como un bebé en su confortable cama y recuerdo con particular agrado las deliciosas lasañas hechas por Francesca. Que vivan muchos años más. Ian Blakey de East Yorkshire, Inglaterra.   Roam about Rome and rest in a historic villa

  This was the last leg of a two-week trip for us and in many ways it was the perfect end to a wonderful holiday. We arrived in Rome already a little worse for wear. Chilled to the bone by the Florence wind and bones a little creaky from 7 days of walking. But the warm welcome of Francesca and Marcello immediately set us right and when, on the first evening, we walked down to their kitchen (full of delicious smells) to share a pasta dinner, we knew we were completely restored. We spent 4 nights at Villa Finzi and left determined to come back. Francesca's and Marcello's concert about our wellbeing really made us feel cared for and the villa feel like home. I had a really bad cold the last few days of our trip but each day I'd get nursed with a Tacheperina and a cup of lemon tea that made me ready to get through a day of walking through Rome. The extra hugs from Pera, the dog, also helped :) The central heating was shut off because winter had ended but they helped us fight the unexpected cold with a fan that blew warm air and an extra blanket. For anybody wanting to stay in a suburb of Rome for whatever reason - to be away from the bustle or to be close to the sights of Tivoli, Palestrina, Subiaco, etc - Villa Finzi really is the best place to be.   Absolutely lovely - couldn't have asked for more!

  We unexpectedly came across Villa Finzi whilst searching for a place to stay at last minute. Francesca and Marcello were more than happy to accommodate us at such short notice and it was such a pleasant stay. We were made to feel very at home and the house was beautiful. It's in a lovely area and we couldn't have wished for a better palace! Wonderful hosts and a wonderful historic bed and breakfast. We will definitely be coming back!

  A delightful stay!

  We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Villa Finzi and engaging with the delightful Francesca and Marcello. The villa itself is an old building with an interesting history and Francesca has many colourful stories to tell about its past. Our room was spacious and comfortable - in fact, the bed was the most comfortable we experienced in our 3 weeks in Italy. If you are looking for a modern hotel and all that goes with it, Villa Finzi is not for you. However, if you are looking to stay in an Italian home with charming hosts who go out of their way to assist you, then Villa Finzi is perfect!

  Where "gentile" really means something

  Out of the way, frayed around the edges, persistently gentile in the face of modern encroachments, the villa Finzi preserves a dying tradition echoed in its name. The furnishings are aged but honest, the conveniences are tempermental, the wi-fi and TV are reluctant, but the hosts, Marcello and Francesca, are gracious, knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. We loved visiting again and will return to renew our amicizia.
