  Un viaje al romanticismo

  Tuvimos una muy grata estadía de una semana, amplia habitación funcional con una vista excepcional, un toque kitsch pero que no molesta, buen desayuno y muy ricas cenas cada y todo en un ambiente que traslada a otros tiempos, Servicio excelente. Recomendable para quienes se atreven a dejarse llevar por ensoñaciones del pasado con ó sin Freud Lugar para el descanso, paseos en bellísimo paisaje !

  Best hotel stay

  Apart from the pool area, the early 19th century rooms, the classical breakfast music and the view over the valley, Christoph with his warm and witty Leonardo Di Caprio style, and his crew are the reason to stay at Villa Excelsior. I cannot imagine a better place in Bad Gastein.

  Great place to stay

  We stayed at this hotel for 1 night in the middle of October 2019. We saw photos of this pretty town -Bad Gastein and wanted to see this place for ourselves. We went with a room with a small balcony with a nice view of the valley. We opted for the room and dinner. We are so glad we ate dinner at the hotel. It came with a salad bar, main dish(beef skewers) and desert. This was so good with great service. The hotel is within walking distance to the waterfall-such a pretty walk. The owner of the hotel is very personable. We highly recommend this place-you will not be disappointed. This is such an amazing town with the waterfalls and amazing valley views-definitely worth going to visit.

  Back in time

  Once you stepped in the Excelsior Villa, you feel like traveling back in time 100 years ago. The luxury old style furniture (historical law protected), the ambiance made by romance dinner music, separate chat chambers (including a old games room) and lobbies makes you feeling special all the time. The room free wifi, the tv-set, the sauna, and all the other modern world comfort things are there, don't be afraid. We've been for one skiing week and we enjoined it very much. The room has been all the days cleaned, towels changed, and each dinner had a different menu. The very pleasant and discrete restaurant service, the Cristoph's at anytime courtesy, together with the villa's ski shuttle (to/from the ski slope) made us wish to come the next winter as well.

  Extraordinary staff and unique hotel!

  This family-run traditional hotel is a hidden gem in Bad Gastein. We were a group of friends there for a week of skiing and enjoyed the service at the hotel to the fullest. Spacious, and warm rooms that the chambermaids left sparkling clean every day. We had delicious meals, also those of us that are vegetarian. The breakfast was varied and plentiful, we also had a special serving on the day of departure at 5:30 am (!) as we were told that we couldnt leave Excelsior with an empty stomach... other facilities worth mentioning is if course the baths and the sauna facilities. We enjoyed these almost every day after long hours of skiing. A worry we had before arrival was the distance to the city center. First and foremost its not a very long walk, and secondly the ski shuttle works excellently (maybe more like a private taxi we felt sometimes). Picture is from the first day when we had some snowfall, the rest of the week we had blue skies and crisp snow! We are definitely coming back, and hope to see Bad Gastein also in the summer!
