  An excellent week at Villa D'Orta

  This is a great place to stay if you're visiting Ischia. We're a family of 4. We spent a week here after a week in Sorrento. After the bustle of mainland Italy and the Amalfi coast this was very relaxed and chilled. Set off the main coastal road there's a free shuttle that leaves at various times through the day to take you to the port (3 mins) from where you can get buses, taxis or boats to explore the island. They also pick up.The staff were fabulous. Very welcoming and friendly. Michaela couldn't have done more - great advice and arranging of trips. The rooms are spacious, clean and bright with great sea views. The pool (with lemon trees!) is quiet and very relaxing. No problem getting beds. Breakfasts were a great choice of cereals, breads and pastries or cooked eggs. The lunch time snacks were generous and very tasty. The evening meals were excellent. Home grown vegetables and their own wines. In fact we all agreed it was the best food we had in our two weeks in Italy. And great value! A very satisfying week....I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Definitely out rates it's 3 stars.

  Fantastic stay

  This is my third visit to villa Dorta and the hospitality and superb service and food only gets better. As ever we were greeeted by the lovely Michaela who magically remembers whats required to make your stay complete including what your breakfast preferences are including my passion for cheese and the best kumquat jam Ive ever tasted. The food as ever surpasses expectations fresh and imaginative with most of the ingredients grown within 100 metres of the property including the grapes for Stefano's wine, which is stunning and rare treat to find something with so few air miles! The rooms are simple and immaculately clean thanks to the lovely cleaning lady who also takes care of your every need. The terrace to the room we had was awesome with Superb views of the port and surrounding area. I tried the treatments on offer in the spa area on this visit and the therapist Carolina is excellent , very professional and skilled and well worth a visit. This hotel is like visiting a family their care and attention makes my holiday memorable and special every time I visit and I look forward to the next time. Thank you all , you are awesome!

  6 perfect nights in small family run hotel

  We knew from the outset that this was a special place. Michele responded to our email queries with efficiency and offered a very good half board rate. Michele arranged to collect us from the ferry and was there exactly as he promised! Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, with daily room service. Pillows slightly hard but didn't interrupt my sleep. Only one English speaking news channel available. Air conditioning great. Beautiful views of the bay from our balcony. Breakfast plentiful and served with a smile each morning from Michele's cousin Luca (we enjoyed our daily morning cappuccino!). Delicious home made breakfast cakes. We enjoyed some freshly squeezed lemon juice but would have loved fresh orange juice also. Boiled eggs cooked to perfection! Evening meals delicious and wow they do like to feed their guests, very generous portions! Enjoyed beautiful vegetables from the hotels garden and also delicious wine made from their own grapes! Again thank you to Luca and Luigi for wonderful service nightly. Even though the food is wonderful, I would suggest eating out on a night or two of your trip to vary things a little - several wonderful options within 10/15 min walk. Delicious lunch options at the hotel. Tasty cocktails and Aperol Spritz available also. Small pool spotless with plenty of sun loungers. Would have loved more cushioning on the sunlounger though. 900m uphill from Casamicciola centre. Nice walk done but a bit of an aerobic workout to get back! Handy shuttle service available throughout the day. Hotel offers free shuttle to local thermal parks so would recommend availing of those. Thanks for the lifts Michele and Francesco! We can't thank you enough Michele, we had such a wonderful stay in your beautiful hotel on your stunning island. We will be back!

  Great place

  The property is located in the Casamicciola part of the island mid hill Which gives the guest a great view over the ocean and capo Miseno. The rooms are very clean and have a terrace. The hotel has a lot of amenities like indoor pool and sauna, outdoor pool but what makes the difference is the people who run this place. Michele, Luca and the family. Young folks with an exquisite sense of genuine hospitality. Will be definitely be back.

  Excellent hotel - perfect smily Service - thanks

  It is an excellent place for a relax. Rooms are clean, we had a big terrasse to drink our wine on evenings, with view on the sea. Nice view swimming pool, spa ... what we have prefered is the breakfast on the terrasse with nice view, the hotel is quiet and the people are very nice and professional to make you feel good and relax ! I recommend this hotel for sure.
