Nice villa, no power or water and poor communicationMy family booked into stay at villa Dewi from 2-10 Jan 2017. Villa dewi is a nice small villa, big bedrooms with comfy beds, nice small pool and good kitchen. The house cleaner did a great job and it was great to see her friendly face every morning. If I had to find faults, the stairs leading upstairs to the second and third bedrooms were extremely steep and dangerous. Young children, older people or those with mobility issues would struggle. Also there was no speakers/ stereo, hairdryer or phone. The water pressure in the upstairs showers was almost nonexistent. We all had to shower in the bathroom downstairs. Best part of the villa is the location- just meters away from everything. Based solely on this information I would have given the villa four stars. However, on our 5th night the power to the villa ( not the surrounding area) went out and the power box needed to be reset with a code. Due to not having a phone I paid to use a phone at a nearby hotel and called the manager. After about 10 hours the power box was reset and we had power again. Unfortunately for some reason we no longer had any hot water. At about midnight on our 7th night the power went out again. We had activities lined up for the next day, so we got up and left ( without having a shower because at this point there was no running water at all). We were hoping that when the cleaner came that morning that she would reset the power. We returned mid-afternoon. The villa had been cleaned (don't know how without water) but the power had not been reset. We now had not had power for about 17 hours. I tried to call and text the manager but his phone was switched off. I tried to contact the owner but was unsuccessful. By 5.30 pm we had to make a decision. My children were scared to stay at the villa in the dark, and with no water or power it had become unlivable. We packed our bags and booked into a nearby hotel. Since being back home I have tried to contact the owner both directly and through the booking site. I have not received any response from her. Strange, because she was quick to answer my emails when I was booking. I am not in the habit of leaving negative reviews or complaining about accomodation. I understand that the facilities are of a different standard in Bali. I have stayed there in villas many times before. However, what disappoints me the most was the lack of communication and poor professionalism from the owner. My family and I were forced to leave the villa because it was unlivable. I paid for accommodation at two different places on our final night in Bali, without any reimbursement or apology from the owner of the villa. From my experience, unless communication drastically improves, I would not recommend staying at villa dewi in Jl Drupadi II.

You may not get the villa you bookedI booked this Villa for its location and was sent to another villa which was a lot further away than we had planned. The wifi was non existant and there was no reception on the TV's. The management have many villas in the area and will just relocated you to one of these.
