    Stunning Place to Stay

This hotel was a fabulous base from which to explore Florence and Tuscany by car. As other reviewers have mentioned because of its location a car is mandatory but the location on top of a hill provides you with a stunning view over Florence from the outside dining terrace. The staff were amazing and could not do enough for you in a discreet and understated manner. We ate at the restaurant and the food and setting was superb. The experience was like being in your own home with friends looking after you.

    miserable

We booked 3 nights in this structure that is immersed in the Tuscan hills. If you do not have a car it is impossible to get there, obviously there are no bars or restaurants nearby. The rooms are large it is quite nicely furnished but ends there. The pillows were full of dust / mites, so that I got an allergy The staff is almost non-existent, we waited 15 min on arrival in front of the reception and also on breakfast room, you have to wait for someone to deign to pass by there. Let's not talk about breakfast, a real shame! they put things with the dropper for fear that someone will take something extra. In the buffet there were 2 pieces of tart, 5 counted biscuits, 2 mini croissants and 1 danish pastry, 4 slices of salami and 2 of cheese . I've never seen anything of genre. Just to specify, breakfast starts at 8.00am and we went at 8.15 am, I can't imagine what you find at 10.00am and we were not the only guests. Finally, at 00.30 we were awakened by the noises of the waiters who threw the garbage and the empty bottles on a van that remained on all the time (30 minutes) even when the waiters sat on the wall to smoke.

    Dinner in the mountains

This was a lovely old convent now a small hotel and restaurant. We drive there to have dinner out of the beating path and found ourselves in a beautiful old monastery turned into a modern version of a hotel/ restaurant. The service was very personal and the food was topical Tuscan cuisine. It is worth the drive.

Beautiful converted monastery with incredible view of Florence

My cousins and I stayed here Tues-Thurs in early June. It was very quiet, and there was minimal staff. When we finally arrived slightly late on Tuesday night, there was no one at the front desk, but we saw a family finishing dinner on the patio on the back. We finally flagged down the server to ask about reception and it turned out he was also manning the front desk. He was very kind in juggling both tasks, but don't expect someone constantly at your disposal like at a hotel. There are only 2 floors, but there is no lift. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The only thing missing though was a rug. When the 5 of us gathered in a room to chat, it echoed very loudly with no carpet or rugs in the room. Beds were super comfy, except for an extra bed which was a pullout. None of us could sleep on it and though we were charged 25 euros a night for it, no one used it. We had an AMAZING dinner at the restaurant on the property. You must get their signature T-bone steak - one can feed 2-3 people and it is delicious. Everything we had was great, in fact, including the wine recommended by our gracious waiter. Breakfast was also wonderful. A large spread of pastries, cereals, fresh juices, coffee, tea, scrambled eggs, various cured meats, cheeses etc. I woke up excited every morning to have breakfast downstairs. The pool was lovely, though it was a little too cool to swim and the mosquitos were rampant. We enjoyed sunsets each evening on the patio. I would love to come back with my S.O. as it's an incredibly romantic, secluded, yet a short drive to town and to all the attractions in Florence.

    Amazing place and scenery

My partner and I stayed here for two nights recently, it's position above Florence is sensational, mind blowing even. The accommodation itself was good and our two night stay was unbelievable. Taxi fares into Florence itself were expensive, but the hotel location more than made up for that. Highly recommended.
