    Incredible Stay

    For first as we entered the room was very unhygienic as checked with the bathrooms also the same, the AC was direct without a remote, the mini fridge was filthy, we as guest need to enter the hotel before 11pm everynight, Breakfast was only omelet & bread toasted no variety, no mineral water provided. No Wifi as promised in the app while booking also no safe parking. For the amount what I have paid for 3 nights you could book the same in a 4star property called The Promenade which has all amenities. I do not know what the hype is all about this property its just good for the view if you get the sea facing rooms & easy access to the beach front.

    this is the real deal

    Loved the location, the staff was pretty good, but look for the owner, and spend a bit of time with'Baba" he is age, and grew up right here and knows all there is to know about the area. The whole place is a heritage site. highly recommend!

    Hotel Bayoud. Average heritage hotel

    The location of this hotel is great which is just next to the road running parallel to the Marina bay. The rooms are old and not well maintained. The bigger room on the ground floor suffers from ventilation. Those rooms which supposedly are beach facing are small and average. There are better options available. The owner was very cooperative and the kitchen staff woke up early to make breakfast for us as we had to leave by 7.30am to catch our flight from Chennai.

    Really misleading hotel

    1. Only five rooms have sea view - 2 on the ground floor with a window view, 2 on the first floor with balcony view, 1 on second floor with terrace. 2. If you doing online booking you will not the get any of the sea facing room. Either call in advance or on the spot. if available will be given with an upgrade charges (Rs 600 excluding 18% tax) 3. Only cash accepted at the hotel (I just couldnt understand which world are they living) 4. Only half property is commercial, rest is used by the owners. 5. Only 3 people employed to take care of the property, so cleanliness takes a backseat. You can see cockroaches, dirty bathroom, ample dust in the side or study tables. 6. You only serve breakfast- standard omelette and bread along with tea or coffee. No mineral water provided. 7. There is 15inch small tv and an almirah. Room phone doesnt work. Bathroom will have toilet paper, medimix soap and clinic plus shampoo. No other toiletries. 8. Beach side gets closed at 8pm and the front door at 11pm. If you coming late or need to leave early, you need to call the Mgr. Looks like owners are least interested in maintaining any customer service. Just minting money on the name of heritage or whitetown sea facing property. Its better to book an oyo and walk over to a beach than paying 5.5k/night here for a window sea facing view. The window which you cant touch because of the HERITAGE DUST lying there. Note- The staff is nice and friendly.

    Book at your own Risk. Overpriced. Overhyped.

    I have stayed here twice. Both occasions, it was a pathetic experience. I just cursed myself that why I didnt book a better place in same amount of money. First time it was my birthday, the property looked beautiful and it was straight on the beach. So it looked tempting but only when we stayed there we realised that it was a bad decision to book this place. Second time, after a gap of one year, it was an emergency situation, we wanted a sea facing room and nothing was available at that moment. And we thought may be things have changed and improved. But we were so wrong. We booked two rooms. Both the rooms were extremely poorly maintained. Reasons you should stay at this property: 1. If and only you need a sea facing room and you dont have any option. Only 5-6 rooms are sea facing by the way. Reasons why you should not stay here: 1. Rooms are poorly maintained. Cracks in doors. Dust lying on furniture. Broken toilets seats. Broken showers. 2. Their breakfast includes only- Bread toast with butter or jam, tea/coffee and Omlet. That is it. If you request them more, they might arrange some muesli. Nothing more than this. 3. There is no restaurant. 4. No room service for tea and coffee. 5. AC will hardly work if you are on the 1st floor or above. 6. Zero value for money. Overpriced for what they have to offer. 7. Their manager and staff is usually rude and rough. 8. They do not provide complementary mineral water bottles. Forget complimentary, if you for a water bottle they will refill some plastic water bottles and give you. 9. If you have not paid full advance, make sure you have enough cash because they only accept Cash. No debit or credit cards accepted. 10. You might see the manager roaming around in his boxers. 11. Front gate will be closed by 11.00 pm and you need to take back door entry. Mind it that the back door will also be closed just that you can ring a bell there and in 5-10 minutes somebody will come to open the door. 12. Wifi works only in that lobby/breakfast area. This place is NOT RECOMMENDED at all.
