  Behave, you're being watched

  Quaint, quiet, clean, close to everything, free parking in a garage right across the street, very good breakfast with many buffet choices. Maybe you can do without bacon and eggs :-), or maybe you can get them if you ask. The way breakfast is served: tablecloth, real napkins, nice china, makes you feel luxuriously treated. The only flaw: the hostess is not very gracious and we felt "watched" at all times except when we were right in the room. If you don't mind being watched, this is a very good place to stay.

  Weird and uncomfortable, like you are not really wanted there

  First of all, a warning: THEY DON'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS!! I have read the reviews of this hotel before booking, and now I read them again in disbelief. I am glad that other people had a good time, our experience was quite different. The host is not pleasant, she is perhaps trying, but she makes you feel most uncomfortable. Maybe its the language barrier. She even gave me a lesson on espresso one morning (if you drink it with milk, it is NOT espresso but capuccino). Wi-fi doesn't work most of the times. The breakfast is cheese, cured meats, cereals, boiled eggs and jam. Forget omlettes and cooked stuff. Nevertheless, the breakfast is tasty and you probably won't have any problems there. Parking is free. And this is a big plus. The hotel is not by the lake, but is close enough. The room is reasonably large and tidy, although I wouldn't call it pristine. There is an area downstairs, sort of a lobby for guests, but everytime we asked if we could sit there the answer was no. The explanation was that it was a private party. The real reason is that the owner lives here, and that room is where she plays with her grandchildren. Well, good for her but I felt weird. It is either a hotel or not, you can't ban guests from the lobby! All in all, the impression we got was along the lines of "nice to take your money, but if you could just leave as soon as possible, you are crowding me and I have have to watch every step you take like a hawk".

  Winter wanderland

  We spent 4 nights in this hotel, including the New Year's eve. This is a cozy hotel in the center of St.Wolfgang, means the main square is 2 min walk and the lake is like 5 minues away. A free parking place is provided if you arrive with a car near the hotel. The room was clean with simple but nice furniture. Free wifi is available also in the rooms. The breakfast was ok with great variety of cheese, fruits, etc. The only thing you must be careful that the place does not accept credit card, so you can pay by cash or by debit card (means no credit line, spending limit determined by the amount associated with your account). I had a Visa debit card, so it was accepted but several other customers were sent to the cash mashine to withraw the money. Check before you come and be prepared. Also shops in St Wolfgang often refuse the credit cards and accept only cash, expecially for small amounts. Otherwise this a charming town with a charming hotel, so I would recommend it to everyone.

  Cozy hotel, traditional and recommended for couples! The Hosts who live there are very polite explained us about the place and kindly answered all our questions. Large and variety breakfast. Rooms and en suite showers. Very clean, modern and luxurious.

  We spent here 5 days and 4 nights at Christmas time. It is a neat and very convenient small hotel is the center of St.Wolfgang. Souvenir shops and sights within walking distance. Barbara Eisl the owner is a lovely and hospitable lady who provides your pleasant stay. She speaks perfect English so you can easily communicate with her if your German is limited :-) This hotel has the best maid ever. Our room was shining everyday. After we arrived back from breakfast the room looked like we entered the first time. This cleaness was a very comfortable feeling I can tell you! All rooms have lake view which was a very romantic thing especially when it was snowing and you could sit in the armchair holding a hot cup of tea watching the cliffs in front of you. Furniture are very elegant and comfortable at the same time. The breakfast room and the corridors very elegantly decorated for Christmas. Breakfast was full and delicious! I can only talk about this Austrian hotel is superlatives. You should go and see yourself. Quality service for reasonable price. Wish to return back in summer.
