  Wonderful place, but with flaws considering it is a 4 star hotel

  The location is perfect. Elevated above Rabac with a great view from the rooms and the pool area. The place is small, personal, and peaceful. We had booked 7 nights in a family room. Located on the top floor we had a great view from our huge terrasse, and the room in itself was huge as well. One bedroom and one living room with fold out bed and kitchenette. Hallway and 2 bathrooms (only bathtub in one of them). Pool is great and a big attraction in this hotel. We had 7 wonderful days, but despite that I can only rate Villa Annette 3 stars (3½ would be the ideal) and that is mainly due to the fact that we payed 285 euros pr night. When you spend that amount, you start to be a bit more critical. The rooms had some small flaws. Noisy old air condition, it was impossible to shower without wetting the whole floor and the finish in décor maybe a bit to plain (plastic toilet holder in one bathroom, none at all in the other). Wifi was generally slow, but it worked (except for the pool area) The hotel charges extra for expresso and cappuccino for breakfast. When ordering pasta for lunch and french-fries, the charge extra if you ask for ketchup and parmesan. A small amount, but still! Own towels in the pool area was forbidden, and the hotel had a daily charge for use of their towels. Everybody used their own towels, and no one said anything, but towels to the pool area should anyway be included when you stay in a 4 star hotel. The poolbar was only open between 12-18, and lunch was only served between 14-16. Way too late for lunch especially when you are travelling with children. Breakfast was very good with many choices and with produce of good quality. The staff was mixed (everything except cooking/cleaning was done by 4 people). Some of them very service minded, one of them not so much. Didnt appear interested in serving guests and didnt have the skills / trained to do a good job. The very small staff made it sometimes difficult to find them both in the pool area and in the reception. We tried the restaurant once, and the food was really really good. Only 2 main dishes, but quality was excellent. The dont have a winelist, and the wine selection was very poor. Only 5-6 different redwines, and mostly merlot grape. The staff didnt know anything about wine. So all in all a really good week in a really good hotel. Dont be mistaken. This is a great place to stay, and most of the things mentioned in this review can be fixed by the hotel in a very short time. Lets see PS: Rabac beach /bar area is surprisingly nice. Despite the many bars and tourist restaurants, it is quite a peaceful place during daytime and the many small beaches/rocks provides excellent swimming opportunities. The clearness of the water is heavenly.

  Great holiday experience in beautiful Istria

  Villa Annette is the best example why we like boutique hotels: modern & comfortable rooms, beautiful view, warm hospitality, great food, relaxing atmosphere & quiet setting in the hills above vibrant Rabac. We especially enjoyed the many home made goodies for the breakfast and the lovely garden diners with a fantastic view over the Rabac bay, all served with an unconditional smile from the very friendly staff. This place really delivers everything what holiday is about for us.

  Lovely Istrian Hideaway

  Perched high Rabac - our suite had terrific views - this is a delightful small hotel. Service is not in your face - when you want something you ring. Either Ivana & Valentina appear, as if magically, immediately and were both incredibly helpful and efficient. Not sure - well definitely sure - that the hotel could not run with out them. Our suite was great always peaceful and relaxing. We ate evening meals in the hotel on three occasions, and although the selection was not vast, the food was delicious. As was the breakfast - a great way to start the day. They have some great Istrian and Croatian wines too - which we indulged ourselves with. Produce their own very fine olive oil too - wonderful poured on bread! Need to have a car or be prepared to walk 10 minutes into Rabac, and then the 25/30 minutes back. Keeps you fit. If you want secluded and peaceful; coming and going as you please with great service when you require it....stay at Villa Annette. Our suite was on the 3rd floor - I have not been in the other rooms/suites, but logically best view from highest position

  Top notch hotel, well worth the visit. Accommodation superb service of the best. In house restaurant - not one meal that was not delicious. I will definitely revisit with my family and make sure that we stay at Villa Annette.

  Oasis with a splendid view to a Golf of Quarner

  We stayed a few nights visiting a client. Great and spacious rooms with a beautiful sea view. Excellent breakfast with a choice of Istrian frittatas and other goodies. Very tasty food served in a garden and the most helpful staff . We had olive oil tasting and both a few bottles. Excellent olive oil. When in area Villa Annette is our place to stay as we felt as at home.
