  Convenient, peaceful location

  We stayed in villa 4, very peaceful with a pleasant garden, perfect for open air breakfast. Vilas Oliveria, is in a quiet road but still very convenient for central Funchal, with its restaurants and supermarkets. Sometimes we did experience problems when opening the main gate but this could have been our fault! Paul the proprietor is very obliging and extremely helpful. We would certainly stay here again.

  Very Quiet and relaxing location 10-15 minutes walk from the centre of Funchal

  a small apartment in the grounds of a Quinta, consisting of a living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette. A small private courtyard garden is also included. To be honest it could maybe do with a little refresh but this didn't really detract from our experience. We didn't cook but is would be possible if you wanted to. Paul, the owner, is a lovely guy and very helpful. I reccomend this if you dont want the large hotel experience

  Perfect self-catering accommodation

  This is the best equipped self-catering accommodation we've stayed in - the owners have thought of everything. Having a week of excellent weather we took full advantage of the lovely little private garden and the sun terrace. Nice walk down into the town via the beautiful park but the walk back up the hill can be a little tiring but OK if you pace yourself. Will definitely return to Madeira which is absolutely beautiful and very interesting and would definitely consider Vilas Oliveira again - so much nicer and secluded than the normal self-catering apartments you normally find.

  Very peaceful quiet location close to Funchal city center

  We stayed 13 nights in one of those groundfloor appartments surrounded by a wonderful garden, overlooking one of Funchal's harbour seafront sections from a rather short distance. Self-catering and having breadkfast outside as well as cooling down after a long hot day out in Madaira's mountains is real fun - you will be accompanied by many lovely lizards ! Rooms are large,kitchen fully equipped, water always hot, bed very comfortable, room service twice a week. Paul, the owner, is very polite and helpful including organizing delivery of of our rentlal car. Parking in front of the entrance is not possible, but there are plenty of unlimited lots avaliable after working hours within 200 m. Walking distance to city Center apprx. 2 kms or 25 minutes, to large Supermarket 15 min. Swimming? By car its 10 minutes to a clean gravel beach located at Funchal's western boundary. If returning to Madeira, will definitely stay there again.

  The real Madeira

  A little piece of paradise.Excellent location.You will need comfortable walking shoes to get around. The real Madeira.Hibiscus hedges and wall lizards Paulo the owner was very helpful and friendly. We stayed in Vila number four.We enjoyed breakfast it's own little garden. Don't forget your hairdryer and plug adapter.
