  Very dirty room

  Room was visibly dirty, with garbage on floor and very noticeable stains on bedding/carpet. Close to airport though. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport. The subway station is 5 minutes away via walking. It takes 30-45 minutes to downtown. Note that the last train back is at 10PM.

  NEAR THE AIRPORT OF PUDONG- SHANGHAI

  Close to the airport I decided to take this hotel again. I was in the hotel before, but I'm not sure I wrote anything about it because there is nothing special about it. There is no English speaking at the reception. The rooms are spacious, and for one person, for one day is satisfactory. Breakfast was poor last time, so I did not order it. Nearby are plenty of small shops to buy something. Best of all, close to the Airport and 60RMB for the taxi. There is also a Metro nearby so you can go to the Center if there is time. 45 minutes by Metro.

  A very good mid-range option

  We stayed in this hotel with two children and did not regret our choice - the reception was efficient (attention: no English), the room spacious and clean and tastefully decorated. There are chairs, tables, a large bed and still space between. The bathroom was well arranged, only the floor of the shower was a bit special: cobbled, so no smooth surface. Looks (and feels) nice but not sure how they keep it clean... Internet was stable and reasonably fast. Transportation to the airport is offered by the hotel (free) and there is a subway station nearby (but it takes you quite a while to reach downtown - the location is really in a suburb). There are not so many taxis around and they might have trouble finding the place as access is through some small side streets. The only really weak point is the breakfast - tasteless, not much choice and low quality.

  A good option when travelling out of Pudong

  Stayed here one night, when arriving from Quzhou in the evening. Check-in was OK (be prepared that English is not very much spoken here). The room I got was rather small, but absolutely clean - no window to the outside, but the window opened out to a wide air duct, actually with quite fresh air, so I slept with the window ajar all night. Bathroom was also small, but very clean and with a good shower. Arriving late and have had dinner on the train, we most of all wanted a cold beer. The hotel has no bar or the like, but we were referred to a small restaurant in the basement - in the same building as the hotel, but with entrance from the street. If you don't want to go there, there's cold drinks on sale in the small hotel shop next to the breakfast room. This was a real lifesaver and after an ice cold Tsingtao (or was it two?) we were on top of the situation again - even being able to eat peanut with chopsticks. Breakfast was quite good, with a few Western style items, but after a week in China you're quite fine with local produce. There is a free shuttle service from the hotel, which has to be booked in advance (so they know how any are going with the shuttle). It was a rather large bus, capable of bringing 40+ persons to the airport.

  Not too bad

  Place is average compared to the others but we have stayed in worse places. Address was hard to find and the staff spoke minimal English. Area was not prestige but then again not in a rough neighborhood. Stay at own risk!
