night mare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! carefully!!!!!!!!hotel is a miles away from nearby metro station, very bad neighborhood! The localisation on the map is WRONG!! All pictures are a fake, rooms are dirty, dark and old! Staff cant speak english at all! They are require a deposit and you have to pay for a hot water! I dont know why this hotel still exist! I checked-out after 2 nights and changed hotel in city centre! The stars for this hotel should be more than half!

It must have gotten better over the past few yearsMy host at Shanghai Normal University booked two nights for me in this hotel and after reading the reviews I thought about making some excuse and booking a room elsewhere. In the end I decided to stick with this place owing to its proximity to the University. What I discovered is that the place is decent. I'm not sure how the other reviewers define as a bad or dangerous neighborhood, but I found it to be fine. Plenty of nearby places to eat, including a very popular Szechuan place. The WiFi worked well, the bed was fine and the linens were clean. Standard amenities in the room, including a pot to make hot water. The staff don't speak English, but courtesy an app on their phone they were able to quickly help me when my key didn't work one afternoon. Now, this is not a tourist area and the hotel has its negatives. They would do well to call Stanley Steamer as the carpets in the my room and the hall needed cleaning. The air conditioning was marginally effective as my room was a constant 26 C despite setting it to 21 C. Bottom line, it's a much better hotel than the older reviews suggest, but it ain't the Ritz.

not recommended!!!the property is very very far , you will even passby disneyland. in the hotel not even a single staff can speak and understand english. only the positive point i give is (rooms are huge and spacious )but no fridge even it is 4* category and the worst part of all..... is the yuckky lousy ewwwww buffet breakfast that even prisoners wont have the interest to eat.same same everyday fried doughnuts , hard boiled eggs, sausage that are boiled , boiled sweet potatoes, cold fried rice, legume beans, steamed cabbage, rice forridge, hot chinese tea and hot juice(literally hot ) very thin slices of tasteless watermelon and plenty of thermos full of hot tea on the buffet table + staff of the resto who are just busy on their moble phones.we are 36 pax who stayed there and all of us were all disappointed and what others did was , they just bought breads and coffee on nearby convenient store for breakfast. i will never ever book my clients in this hotel again

Family getawayBeautiful hotel, excellent customer service, but nobody speaks English!!! So inconvenient and frustrating, we had to use the translator app, with that we managed to communicate. We got a deluxe suite, very clean, 2 bedrooms with full bathrooms, very happy with the service. They have restaurant buffet style breakfast. Would be nice uf they had a gift shop and concierge. A convenience market next door and several small restaurants, but unable to communicate.

Has potential, but bewarebooked it using an online booking site, this was a problem. Tried to check in, they had no record of our reservation, showed them the confirmation and the booking, still nothing. Wanted to make us pay again for the room. We refused. Zero english spoken by any staff or management, so unless you speak chinese or have a fantastic app, you will have severe challenges checking in. After 2 hours in the lobby they gave us a room. It was 1970's las vegas gaudy gold and red. it was actually really quite nice, just overly ornate and chachi. The hotel looks like it was pretty high end at one time, but now just looks dated. The price was good, like 40 bucks a night. Breakfast was terrible, only coffee and toast. The location is terrible, there is almost nothing within walking distance. Have to take a taxi or a didi to go anywhere. The Wild life park is nearby, its basically a zoo and not bad if you havent seen a zoo before.
