Lovely boutique hotelSmall but cozy hotel in the very center of rethymnon old town. Charming rooms, ideal for a romantic weekend or short stay. Bathroom is somewhat small but i cannot fault this place for anything else. A place where i would certainly go back.

Great location from which to explore Rethymno old townThis was a charming place to stay (older, with character) within walking distance of everything in the old town. The owners were always available during the day, working in the little shop downstairs. We rented a split level suite which had a double bed upstairs and a single bed downstairs, along with a kitchenette and dining table. We were missing some items in the kitchen, like a knife and something to wash up with up. I mentioned this to one of the owners when leaving to explore one morning and they had provided these items by the time we got back. It was getting colder when we were ther also (first week in November) and we asked for an extra blanket for the bed. We were each given a duvet. The owners also kindly made sure we knew the best way to drive out of town to get to our next destination. So in summary, the owners were very pleasant, available and helpful. We were in one of the rooms facing the church and the little square around it. Just be aware that at weekends especially, this seems to be a popular hangout for locals and can be quite noisy into early morning, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. There is parking close by (5 minutes walk away) in the car park opposite the public gardens. It costs under 4 per 24 hours. It probably gets a lot busier in the holiday season but had lots of spaces when we were there (Nov).

Dreamy hotelI stayed at Vetera Suites in mid June with my boyfriend and had a superb time. The room was exceptionally beautiful, furnished with antiques and a historic site itself. The upper side of a window frame bears the date 1821 and dates from the Ottoman period. Another blind window in the room goes back to the much earlier period of the Venetian occupation, as explained to me by the hotel owner and manager, a very gentle, always smiling lady, ready to respond promptly to all our needs. Her admirable taste was visible in every spot and every corner of the room. A virtual little museum and yet equipped with all modern amenities, fresh and clean as if built yesterday.

A charming hotel in the heart of RethymnonRethymnon is a beautiful little town on the island of Crete and Vetera suites is the jewel in its midst. It is one of the most frequently photographed buildings because of its wooden Turkish kiosk on the upper side, the majestic stone Venetian windows in the middle and the pretty little art shop on the ground floor. Hotel and art shop share the same elegance and the same graceful style. On entering the Hotel I was greeted by Ms Nike, the hotel owner, and was immediately charmed by her sweetness. The service was ideal. My room, the split-level Dione (the rooms do not bear numbers but names!) with its Ottoman style kiosk will forever remain in my memory. During my stay at Vetera suites it was as if I had been transferred to other times..

Calm and relaxing atmosphereA small and intimate hotel, perfectly situated in Rethymnon's old town. Right next to a charming church whose bells gently wakes you up (not too early) in the morning, and with just a few minutes walking distance to the beach, harbour and restaurants. The hotel rooms are situated above a small and charming shop. The room had a good size, with a small kitchenette and a bit small but functional bathroom. All rooms are different and unique, with old furniture, paintings on the walls and tall windows with curtains and drapes. Incredibly cozy. It had a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. The hosts were always smiling and helpful with tips on what one should do in Rethymnon, as well as sharing some history about the town and Crete.
