  Decepcionante

  Se vende como Hotel histórico y tradicional y no mienten. Lo malo es que ahí se termina la cuestión. El servicio es pésimo, las habitaciones de difícil acceso y mal amuebladas, el wifi una aventura y el almuerzo... el almuerzo es para hacerlo en otro sitio. Si a esto le añadimos el precio desorbitado, pues ya está todo dicho. Eso sí: Roros, un pueblo único, digno de visita.

  Maybe a bit expensive, but I will return!

  I had booked a modern room with kitchen, for the third time, for a weeks stay. It is a bit expensive, else I am satisfied, and I will return. The rooms are new, maybe 10 years old, so there are a few spots an stains, but else the rooms are new and modern. The kitchen contain kitchenware, an electric water kettle, two electric hot plates and a microwave oven, plus a dishwasher. Tea bags and instant coffee also (but only sugar follows), I used a lot of them. Negative: The wireless network was fast, but difficult to get connected to. I had to move around in room 213 to get connected, and if I then sat in the wrong place, the connection was lost.

  historic and quintessentially Norwegian

  This cute, quaint historic hotel is in the middle of the historic district of this small little town. Due to its location you cannot drive right up to the front door. We parked just up the street and then walked down to check in at the small reception. There is quite a bit of parking behind the hotel . It is just a matter of figuring out which narrow one way street will lead you there. My husband and I were just staying one night on our self drive. Our room was all wood with two sleigh beds with duvets and colorful blankets. I was charmed . To me it seemed quintessentially Norwegian. The bathroom was one of the larger ones we had had with plenty of counter space (rare). We enjoyed a local brew in the cozy bar. Breakfast buffet the next morning was excellent. I especially liked the warm crusty bread and the freshly pressed apple cider. The location of the hotel is right in the center of everything. The only downside of our visit was that it rained most of the time we were there.

  Nice historic hotel

  We were in a room in the old factory; the rooms here are a modern design with some nods to the history of the building in the room and hall area. The room itself was simple but comfortable; could maybe benefit from a few additional comforts such as a more modern television and better tea/coffee facilities. Great location, right in the middle of the Main Street (and an easy walk to the train station). Breakfast was simple but a reasonable selection. Staff were friendly and the bar has a good selection of drinks including locally brewed beers and champagne by the glass.

  Rooms in the backyard

  Location in the middle of the main street is perfect. Be aware that most rooms are in industrial buildings in the backyard. Our room was not heated at arrival, +8°C outside. We complained about the freezing cold room and they promised to turn on heating. This takes long time in an old concrete building. The ventilation was still blowing outside temperature air straight into the bed. We had booked two nights, but skipped the second night. Prepayment to hotels.com caused no refund for the second night. If we had awaited payment directly to the hotel at departure, we would have saved NOK 1500, according to the hotel. Too often we find that ordering hotels via hotels.com results in a poor room at an assumed good hotel. Not surprising as the hotels get better payment for direct bookings.
