Lots of potentialDated but still nice looking hotel. In need of renovation. Surrounded by flowers and gorgeus gardens which are really taken good care of. Rooms are spacious. Good thing is all of them have small personal balcony or garden. Food is very very tasty, lots of choices, fresh sea foods and it doesn't get repetitive. Chef is a friendly italian guy who likes to speak to guests about his food and meals! Good job ! All of staff are very kind and helpfull. Hotel beach is not the best one, just ok. Think about introducing the shuttle service to the one of surrounding amazing beaches. Pool is nice adding to the hotel. One thing that cannot be overlooked is wifi, which is barely working. I'm sure you will fix it soon. Overall nice hotel, very good for peacefull and relaxing holiday. Keep up the good work!

Relax in beautiful sceneryGeneral feeling of stay - EXCELLENT. Staff: keep smiling 24/7, always helpful from the bellboy to the general manager. Liked Davide (at the reception) who made note of my request on the room location. Location: the hotel is located on a hillslope and looks like a small Sardinian village. The territory is fully covered with flowers, trees and bushes. Rooms: very good-sized, light-colored, bathroom is very spacious with marble elements. Each room has either a balcony or a terrace (some with direct way out). Food: for breakfast always the same (no problem), dinner and lunch are nourishing and great variety of fresh food always available. Served inside and outside the restaraunt. Waiters are quick. Pool: infinity, calm, not overcrowded. Beach: pebble, 5-minute walk along the alley, lots of sunbeds. Chatteres become annoying sometimes. Animation team: I liked it - they are active, but not too excess. SPA: newly renovated, clean. The prices are a bit expensive which is usual for all the resorts. The hotel is for quiet calm rest.

The Hotel Parco Torre Chia StorySelected Sardinia as our honeymoon destination, due to the fact that we love Italy, due to its natural beauty, fantastic food and very friendly and welcoming people. Had fantastic holidays across Italy many times ,so we were really looking forward to this trip. From Cagliari it is very easy to get here, about an hour drive, roads are really good.( car hire is a must if you want to get around, but you can find very good deals at the airport). Upon arrival the reception area looked fantastic, the resort looked great, we were really excited about the time we will spend here. After a very quick check in they drive you around in a little golf car to show you everything and then take you to your room. We had one in top of the resort as it is built on a hill. Room was nothing special, but it looked clean, had a little balcony with nice view and a massive and comfortable bed. There is a little beach 5minutes from the hotel and you can use a massive pool as well if you like, and there is also a restaurant, where they catering for all residents via buffet style. When you will try to book this hotel you will see that you must take this option, there is no other choice. My wife is Italian and we both love Italian kitchen so we already envisioned all the great Italian food we will have. Oh boy, how wrong we were... We tried dinner first,(they offer breakfast, lunch, dinner)as i said in buffet style. The restaurant itself was a well designed building sitting next to the pool with plenty of tables in and outside. There was not much to choose from, a few starters mains side dishes, and a little dessert section. There are also drink dispenser machines with soft drink, tea or coffee and wine. We picked up a few items and decided to sit outside as it was really hot. From this point i don't know which one was worse, the food, or the constant battle with the clouds of mosquitoes and crazy wasps. The meat was chewy, the fish was dry, potatoes under cooked , desserts generally tasted nothing and there was no flavor at all. The wine from the dispenser wasn't the best either, but i can understand that they can't put quality wine for free flow as they would go bankrupt in months. On top of that here was a singer trying to sing songs at the so called piano bar, it was more like a torture than a pleasure, fair play to him, he kept going all week every night, and was really nice with kids. Really not what we were expecting, but we were hoping for improvement next day at breakfast. Again, there were not much variety, barely could find the great cuts of meats and cheeses, breads what Italy is famous for. A few sad ham and cheese slices were sitting there alongside with some scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt some fruits and maybe two types of bread( that was the same breakfast every day) Again the same battle with the wasps, even inside the restaurant. Oh, I almost forgot, there was a tray of turkey ham cling filmed, as soon as you lifted it, a lot of wasps just went for it, i think it was their favorite, at least someone liked it.. Don't really want to go into more details, we went back for dinner hoping it would be different, same poor selection again, pasta over cooked with a ragu' you can easily forget, some dry fish etc...i think they a good offer on french beans, because at least five dishes were featuring them. Only edible things were the risotto and the octopus salad. The worst one was the cannolo, with a cream inside tasted like it has been made from instant chocolate pudding powder. There is nothing Sardinian in the food what they serve, not even close to Italian, and i am sure most B&B's are serving much better quality food than this 4 star hotel!! We decided that we won't eat that food anymore, certainly not for that money they charging for it, and I went to the reception to see how we can resolve this problem. After explaining my problem to Fabrizio, the receptionist he said he will talk to to chef and try to improve quality. He clearly got annoyed when i told him that i don't think it will improve as it has been constantly bad for the two days we were here. He pointed at his watch and telling me that he has been working for 12 hours( i do understand hospitality workers have to put in a lot of hours, as I'm coming from that filed too, and i feel sorry for him, but i don't think it is the best way to deal with your customers). Anyway he said he will talk to the manager and will give me an update on my case later that day. I would like to apologize to him again( i did it on the spot too) but we couldn't make it back to the hotel until late night,as we were discovering Sardinia by car further away. When i went back in the morning he let me know that he wasn't happy that i didn't go back for his answer, which one was that they can't do anything about the food( could have told me on the phone too:) When i asked for the manager first he refused to call her for me, on the second attempt he gave in and i could talk to a lovely lady, Gabriella if i remember well. I told her that the food quality is not 4 star at all and not Italian either, which she was insisted it is, but anyway I was asking for a refund for the food or a full refund and we are happy to leave. She insisted that we stay and said that need to find a solution for my problem, and they will update me via phone later on. Needles to say the phone call never came but the morning when i talked to Sabrina( very professional , friendly and helpful ,thank you very much), they offered us a full refund or to stay on and use the hotel as a B&B for a reduced price. We opted for the second one as we didn't want to waste time, and we went to eat out every night somewhere around . And you know what, surprisingly we could finally taste real Italian food. And I'm not talking about Michelin star restaurants, they were local business, who used local resources to create authentic Italian food, and you don't have to break the bank at all. Why a 4 star hotel can't be bothered to put quality food on their tables where they have everything at their disposal is just beyond me... To anyone wishes to travel to Sardinia: DO IT!! It is a magical place with the best beaches of Italy, beautiful landscapes and amazing people, you won't regret it. If you are heading for Hotle Parco Torre Chia: if you enjoy spending all your holiday in a hotel, willing to spend a crazy amount of money on below average entertainment and on awful quality food, like to battle with wasps while you eating ,then go ahead and enjoy. We made the mistake not trusting the reviews before we booked, hopefully others won't make the same mistake.( all food related reviews are true, and it is just baffles me how some people can rate it 5 star)
