  Very good hotel, very good staff!!!

  I really need to appreciate the service of this hotel. The staff, Mr. Ng, did very good job for helping us to special check out services arrangement (because we need to check out for 2 days before). Besides, all staff are so polite and the location is the best (just 2 mins near the metro station). One special thing, there have a minibar for free.... coke, noodles, coffee, biscuits.. you will not be hungry at all. I will certainty come back this hotel again.

  Location, Location, Location

  Vendome east is conveniently located next Watson's and between 2 metro station gates/entrance. Directly opposite is Uniglo + GU. This area has ample stores for shopping and dining as well, you definitely will not starve here!!. Just around the corner of Watson's, there is a noodle shop which is quite popular with the locals. I believe it opens for lunch onwards. For local breakfast of chinese pancakes with chives and crullers, there is a little push cart which only opens in the mornings just behind Watson's a well. In the evenings many little stalls will pop open selling clothing, jackets and even socks. The hotel itself has a really tiny reception, a smallish pantry/eating area (to fit around a max of 10 comfortably). They have ample snacks, tea eggs as well as instant noodles to satisfy your mid night snacking. The rooms are really small, there isn't much space to place large luggages. We booked 3 rooms; 2 superior (5 feet bed) and 1 deluxe (2 twin beds stuck together). These rooms were made up, however, i have to warn you that the sheets are not changed regularly, as i spilt some coffee on the bedsheet(not comforter) and it was not replaced. We stayed here for 4 days. The carpets feel kinda grimy, i think it needs a good wash. The other reviews i read prior to booking made sense after i stayed there...hahaha. The superior rooms windows are located in the bathroom. Which means the bathroom walls are glass, but no fear there are curtains. The deluxe rooms, is actually a corner unit, so there is a ample light from the windows and the bathroom come with a bathtub as well. Sound proofing is ok...i can still hear music and singing, but its not annoying and did not disturb my sleep... For the location and price, i feel that it is worth my time to revisit. But then again there are so many hotels here, you'll be spoilt for choice.

  Good location but dark and dingy rooms

  I stayed in this hotel for 2 Nights and have to say that it is very conveniently located, close to metro and on the road. But, very surprisingly, the rooms are painted dark there is not much sunlight getting in and the carpets are damp and mouldy. The hotel is also above a nightclub so sometimes there is a lot of banging noise which may be a damper for light sleepers. May not be a good location for a single female Traveller.

  Friendly staff

  Pros: * Very conveniently located near the exit of Blue Line MRT. * Front desk staff are friendly and can speak English * Common pantry area with free snacks, instant noodles and drinks * Surrounding area has 24/7 stores (7-11 and Watsons) and food so no issue of starving Cons: * There's a nightclub in the building so you'll smell the smoke clinging to the surroundings. Sometimes the smell transfers to the hotel floor. * Small rooms, no storage space for bags * Cleaning staff don't clean very well. * Bathroom isn't very private so not ideal for friends.

  Location, location, location

  We stayed here for our final 3 nights in Taiwan, 27/11 to 30/11. The room was a good size and comfortable with all the necessary amenities for a hotel in this price range. Great shower (although the bath was hobbit sized) with a view down the main street/ boulevard. The main issue with the hotel was the smell of cigarette smoke from some of the rooms on the same floor even though we were on a non smoking floor... The staff were generally friendly and helpful The best bit was the location... fantastic, close to Dunhua MRT with so many food (both street food and restaurants & bars), shopping and sightseeing option within an easy walk or via the MRT. The streets behind the hotel get a special mention, lots of funky/ chic shops and bars... Would definitely stay in that area again and consider staying at Vendome East as well.
