  Relaxation zone

  It's an apsolute relaxion zone. The rooms are very large. The bed is amazing - huge and comfy. Bathroom is also large and well equipped - even a bide! The breakfast is good, but ask the staff for something else you want. There is a moderate amount od options, but you will find something. The coffee, though, is way too weak. The pool is clean, relaxing and wonderful. The staff is nice and welcoming. We didn't try the restaurant. If to be nitpicky, the sound of the light generator in the bathroom is a bit loud. Also, the towels and bathrobes could do with more fabric softener. The exterior and the interior are mismatched in style (mediterranian and ultra modern), but it's a persobal preference.

  The best restaurant in the whole Istria

  It is a place with a splendid view and fabulous cuisine. You can taste local dishes and sea food. Everything is very gourmet. The staff are extremely amiable to children. The building is cosy, I guess it must be wonderful here in winter, near the fireplace. I'd love to come here for my next holiday so much!

  Lovely dinner in a quiet surronding

  If you want to have a nice dinner in a peaceful surrounding of the village ian, 8 km from Pula in the direction of Linjan, Medulin, Velanera or Bodulka (the other name of the same restaurant), you should go there. The restaurant is known for its chef who is very well known in Istria, Duan ernjul. We were there yesterday evening. The chef said that the heart is the most important part of the cooking! We had the veal meat 'pod pekom' and the meat of young local beaf called bokarin. Both dishes were delucious. We had creme chantilly with raspberry sauce for dessert. Perfect. I always order this dessert there and I'm always very satisfied. We drank Medea sparkling wine for the starter and malvasia wine of the same producer later on. Both wines were very fresh and of the right temperature. The surrounding is very nice, full of mediteranian flowers, there is a pool for the guests of the hotel - Velanera has more then 20 rooms as well. In the end the price of the dinner was acceptable. Highly reccomend.

  Fantastic boutique hotel in a quiet area with 1st class restaurant

  This was our favourite hotel during the 10 days we spent travelling Croatia. Very comfortable, very clean, very friendly staff and owners...family owned. We would definitely stay here again. I liked the themed decoration and lighting throughout the hotel, it was well thought out and very attractive. Location: This is a great place away from the crowds and other tourists, yet only a few minutes from the beaches. You will need to have a car to get around as it's a quiet village. Room: Quiet, huge room, with a nice view of the pool and surrounding area. Two single beds pushed together to form one large king size bed, plus a fold out bed with privacy curtain. Electrical outlet on each side of the bed. The bathrobes were much appreciated. There is a refrigerator you can use to store cold drinks in. Bathroom: the shower had excellent water pressure and lots of hot water, something we don't always get in hotels! There's a hair dryer, bidet, and plenty of sink space for your toiletries. Soap/shampoo is in a wall dispenser. Dining: We had dinner in the restaurant and I can honestly say it was the best during our entire stay. I ordered traditional Croatian dishes and there is plenty on the menu...meat, fish, and vegetarian selections. Breakfast had a standard cold buffet of meat, cheese, breads, cereal, and yogurt...also was offered eggs cooked to order and freshly made coffee. Everything was very good. Wi-Fi: very fast connection...very happy!

  Absolutely perfect

  Just returned from hotel Velanera - been there with family (kids 4yo and 8yo) for little less than two weeks. The hotel is a smaller (I believe 13 rooms in total), very modern, with an excellent restaurant and sizeable outside pool. The rooms are spacious (we had 2 bedrooms family apartment), airconditioned (you can even set different temperatures for each room), with huge bed in the master bedroom, overlooking the pool. Very good accessibility even for disabled (lift available). I appreciate a feel for detail in design - everything from door handles, through mirrors, to room lights is in one design theme, yet different for each room. The pool is suitable for kids (depth from 1 - 1,35m), with hydromassage corner and also separate small pool for little kids (0,4m). Sunbeds and shade available with no extra charge. The hotel is family owned and operated. The staff is very helpful and friendly, very amiable to kids. They gave us tips for beaches, restaurants, what to see in the area, also warned us against tourist traps. The restaurant (named Bodulka) is of a very high standard - offers Istrian specialties, mediterranien cuisine, italien cuisine. It is worth even a separate visit, the meals are amazing. Pricing is okay for the quality served. The breakfast was pretty standard buffet, the staff can prepare you also ham and eggs, sausages, excellent omellette with cheese and prosciutto or basically everything you would have asked :) The hotel is located is Sisan/Sissano - smaller village just like 3km to Lizanj, 5km to Medulin, 8km to Pula. All these easily accessible (if you have a car indeed). Just about 2km east from the hotel is typical istrian coast full of small bays and little pebble beaches. You just pass by via dirty road (non-paved! Leave your Ferrari or Lambo at home :) ) in a car and pick the one you like the best (read: where nobody is - theyre all great). Weve also visited some public beaches in or near Pula, if you prefer more comfort like toilets and bars. Overall I have to say it was my best place to stay in Croatia so far. Kids loved it, we too. Will be back one day for sure.
