Mini stay at the VCH Hotel GreifswaldWe chose this hotel originally for the price. We found in comparison with other hotels in Greifswald it was reasonably priced with a buffet breakfast. The hotel is easy to find with ample free parking. The first impression of the hotel I likened it to a modern school it had that look about it. The reception was friendly and check-in was smooth. Finding the room was easy with idiot-proof signs to help you find your way. The elevator was quick and quiet which was good as our room was right next to it. We had chosen the family room which had two rooms incorporated into one with seperate lockable doors. The rooms were bright and airy, simply furnished but everything we needed was there. There was no coffee/tea in the room if that is an issue for some people. For us no problem. The beds were soft but we found comfortable enough. TV was small, like a small computer screen. If you have sight problems it could be an issue when propped up in bed. Again for us no problem. The shower had good water pressure and the bathroom was all in all fine. Plenty of cupboard and shelving space plus a table and chairs. The rooms were clean and the cleaning staff were very good no worries there. Breakfast was very good with cereal, toast, rolls plus all the condiments. Juice, coffee etc. All in a clean environment, very nice start to the day. The hotel had WiFi in the lobby and restaurant but was a bit touch and go. Again check out was easy and hassle-free. The location is just south of the centre and takes about 30 minutes to walk to the Marktplatz. We took the short route which wasn't so nice, a bit neglected with a lot of unkept surroundings and graffiti everywhere. But as we got near the centre it improved drastically. If I had one negative it would be the carpet in the room had seen better days and I would have preffered to have seen laminate, but it wasn't too bad and acceptable for a cheaper hotel. I would recommend this hotel for what you get for the price.

Great budget accommodationsThis hotel is a large complex with six separate buildings. It serves the University city of Greifswald for conference accommodations and visiting students and academics as well as being available for tourists, group reunions, family gatherings, etc. It is located somewhat out of city centre, so is appropriate for people travelling by car. I can't say what kind of public transport is available. The room was spacious, clean and there was lots of cupboard space. Normally, the bathroom would be shared with an adjoining room, but we had no-one beside us so it wasn't an issue. It has a bit of an institutional feel to it, but if what you are looking for is a good night's sleep, a generous breakfast and to get on your way, this is a fully satisfactory spot to stay. There is a large dining room and the food and the service is good, both evening and breakfast. I presume lunch is also served. The price was great for economical travel. We had to park the car on the next-door property, but it was easily accessible.

Good standard with no frillsamong the Greifswald sleeping places the one a bit of the City but with lots of calm. It´s a complaex of several Buildings grouped around an Atrium. Excellent breakfast and economic mini bar. Rooms are cleaned daily. TV is old and has tiny Screen, better bring on Notebook. WIFI coverage is reasonable.

Nice place.Very different from USA Hotels. It's more like a hostel. Staff are very nice and speak decent English. Rooms are cleaned everyday unless you request not to. When I was there they were hosting quite a few refugees who were interesting to talk to. The bowling ally upstairs is fun and cheap. It's not very centrally located, but it's only a 10 minute bike ride from downtown. I highly recommend this hotel for larger groups.

Nice hotel, helpful staffStayed here over a weekend with friends. A nice hotel with very comfortable and clean rooms. The staff were very warm and welcoming, and helped to arrange taxis for our large group when needed. The hotel is located maybe a 15-20 minute walk from the city centre. A continental Breakfast was included in the stay. There is also a bar and bowling alley in the hotel that is open late!
