  Rural accommodation near the lake

  We loved the setting of Vätternterrassen which is in a beautiful location a short drive from the village of Hammar. The grounds are lovely and you can walk down to the private jetty which has steps into the water for swimming. The location is perfect for relaxation. The breakfast was excellent with very tasty fresh bread. The owner Rolf was very welcoming. Negatives were that we both found the beds soft and uncomfortable and there was a power cut during our stay (but the problem was resolved quickly). Wins for its location and peaceful atmosphere.

  A true gem not to be missed

  At the Northern tip of the great lake Vättern this beautiful 100 years old mansion is located with a stunning view of the lake. Many rooms have view over the lake. But else the view can be enjoyed from the terrace or the restaurant. Or you can descend down to a pier by the lakeside. The luxurious rooms are very comfortable and decorated with great taste. The restaurant offers only a few options for lunch and dinner, but all are cooked with great care and served beautifully. The breakfast is good and plentiful, and especially the bread is of very high quality. We really enjoyed our staying here, with good help from the midsummer weather and sun. Even the price is very enjoyable, only appx 1.000 SEK, including breakfast.

  Lovely lakefront nature retreat

  Rented lakeview apartment for a weekend and were not disappointed! Apartment itself was quite new, well designed, and well outfitted. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Lake views from everywhere in the apartment were gorgeous!! Hosts are lovely people who provided everything we needed. They know the area well and we felt hosted in a warm and helpful manner. Lake itself is beautiful and it was nice to explore the area around the lake by foot. If the weather had been nicer, I am sure that the provided boats would also be a lot of fun. One small tip for nature walkers in this area is that we found a couple ticks following walks in the forest so be aware and scan yourselves following extensive forest walks. Highly recommended for stay in this area!

  Bad planning is good for you!

  The hotel where we planned to stay this week-end (the Folke Dahlberg society get-together) was fully booked. So we stayed at the Vatternterrassen, not far from Karlsborg. What a house! What wonderful surroundings! What a view! What a good kitchen! Can't say much more - it already sounds a little bit ridiculous. But good it was and bad planning can sometimes be good for you!

  Like in the old days...good care, real attention, from the heart!

  Helpfull and very friendly people. Very good breakfast and the children loved it. The neighboors gave them fishing gear and they had the time of their live with the lobster catch cages. Rooms were like in the former days, with lots of details. House needs a bit care though
