    Dine at Home experience

    Van Dyk got the Dine at Home order wrong which was only discovered after collection upon arriving back home. I was promised this would be looked into by a duty manager and contact would be made but no telephone call was received. When I enquired as to when I would receive a response, I was subjected to a sarcastic response instead of an apology for their mistake. I replied to say no telephone call was required and a further sarcastic response was received . I rang the Duty Manager as I felt that whoever had responded to me required further customer service training, I was informed the duty manager would look into the response however it could have been the owner of the hotel who had responded as they monitor the Facebook messenger account. Prior to this pandemic being local, we were regular visitors to Van Dyk and during the pandemic we have continued to support Van Dyk as we are aware of the stress during this crisis on the hospitality industry. The contempt shown to me as a result of this incident has made the realisation dawn that Van Dyk does not need my support. I would like to pass my thanks to the duty manager and respondent from Van Dyk as we together with our family and friends we will not be spending any further money at this establishment.

    Dine at Home Sunday Lunch

    We ordered 2 roast beef dinners for our Sunday lunch, the quality and taste of all components of the meal were beautiful as well as still being hot! We opted to collect the meals as we are local, staff on reception were lovely and genuine, whilst sticking to covid regulations! We will definitely be ordering again, thankyou for an enjoyable meal!

    Takeaway Sunday lunch

    Decided to give ourselves a treat and collect a Sunday dinner today. It certainly didnt disappoint and was greeted by lovely staff on reception when collecting. Got home and the food was hot and in great portions and was thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely order again!

    Disgraceful service

    I left a comment on their Facebook page stating my Sunday dinner dine at home arrived cold and a little dried out. Not ideal when its cost £38 for 2 Sunday dinners, but I also stated once Id reheated it the food was nice. My comment was deleted and I was blocked on Facebook. Then my husband made a comment asking why Id been deleted for leaving a fair review his comment was also deleted and he too was blocked. So thats why youll never see a negative review on their Facebook because someone (I believe it could be the owner but have no proof but hes the one that was replying to other customers queries at the same time) deletes them and blocks you. What a childish and ridiculous way to deal with honest constructive criticism. Will never use this company again and will also been advising people of my experience.

    Poor

    I stayed here for a few nights from the 8/2/2021 the room was freezing cold all night, reported it in the morning and asked to be fixed, got back that evening to find the smallest oil filled radiator they could find to heat it up lol, eventually got another room but during the night the heating decided to turn it's self up to maximum, needless to say another night with no sleep..so left very unhappy Very poor workmanship to the finish as well which lets it down Staff are very polite on a good note
