Perfect stay in CreteValentina Apartments are the perfect choice for a relaxed holiday in Crete. We stayed for 10 days in August (booked through teletext holidays) and loved every minute. Our studio room 6 was clean and spacious with a small very basic kitchen - we were self catering but went out to eat most of the time. We had a beautiful mountain view from the balcony and a sea view from our front door. The pool area is clean and relaxing, and the food and drinks served are delicious and low priced. The Cretan barbecue night was fantastic. The location was fine for us as we dont mind walking at all, plus its only 20 minutes to the beach and main strip of bars and restaurants. There is plenty to do nearby but the area is quiet so perfect for those looking for a chilled holiday. The staff at Valentinas make you feel so welcome and part of the family, cant fault the service at all and great value for money. We would definitely return if we were to come back to Crete in the future.

Never Disappoints...FabulousOnce again I have had the pleasure of a holiday in Crete and Valentinas is the perfect Place for hospitality comfort friendliness and love the Cocktails . The service is 5* . Turn up a Guest leave with a new Cretan family ....The rooms are Traditional with a modern twist ...very clean large and comfortable . Food by the lovely Alex is fantastic ..a menu to suit all ...especially the home made cake this is a must . Also the Coffee bar is a great addition as is hard to find a good coffee in Gouves , but Valentina has this covered with a great selection of coffees using Illy coffee .Pool is comfortable with luxury beds and Pool bar . Thank you for yet another amazing time see you next year .

Friendly staff, great pool area, DIVINE FOOD!My husband and I chose these apartments based on the excellent trip advisor reviews and their central position on the Northern coast. This was by far the best choice we could have made for so many reasons... The apartment was perfect for our meagre needs - essentially a base to sleep, get washed and (literally) chill out when not exploring the island. Just across from the apartments is a pool area with a bar, tables and sunbeds. The pool is split length-ways into a deep(ish) area and a shallow childrens area. The food was EXCELLENT; If you like proper home-cooked Greek food, then you could simply eat at the apartments every night. We tried the moussaka, the kleftiko and the stifado (my husband also had an English breakfast after far too much raki the previous night), all of these were utterly delicious. It is best to order the traditional dishes the night before or in the morning as they are in many cases cooked for hours, which really makes a difference. Also, as there are only a few apartments, once a week the owners try to put on a Greek-style bbq (again, delicious) which you can pay to be a part of. Greek dancing lessons included! This brings me perfectly on to the staff. All of them were so incredibly warm, friendly and accommodating. Valentina, Alex and Maria made the whole place feel like a family home (some of the people there actually are family) and we were genuinely sad to say goodbye to them. They even didnt mind my husbands eccentric request to bring Santa along to take some photos for his work (dont ask)! The good beaches are easiest to reach by bus/taxi/hire car, but they are only a 5 (Kato Gouves) or 15 (Hersonissos) minute drive. There are great Tavernas in almost every direction should you wish to go out for the evening.

BEST HOLIDAY EVERI am rarely disappointed when I go on holiday because I do research wherever I intend going and on this particular occasion I was lucky enough to be able to visit Valentina's Apartments the year before as we stopped across the road at Club Lyda so I had a head start this year. I did a short Tripadvisor review last year based on a short visit but this will be a full review. I travelled with my wife, son and daughter in law and for the first time ever we opted for a minibus from Heraklion Airport instead of the cheaper shuttle bus we normally would use. The minibus was 75 euros for 4 people all in 37.50 paid to the driver to resort and 37.50 back to the airport. It was brand new, fully air-conditioned and we had it all to ourselves, it took about 15 minutes to resort, straight to the door not like last year when the shuttle bus dropped us a quarter of a mile away and we had to walk. We arrived at about 10.30 pm and dropped our cases in our studio and hit the bar for the last hour PERFECT START. Our room was a lounge-diner with two full-size couches which could be used as beds if needed but there was also a separate bedroom with two single beds and a TV (which we never used) and air conditioning a must in Gouves as it was in the high 30's when we were there (air-con payable at the bar) We had two balconies in our apartment ( number 10) one on the lounge looking out over the Olive groves towards the mountains and the other in the bedroom looking out onto the road ( very very quiet road maybe 2 cars an hour ) The kitchenette was pretty basic with 2 electric hobs, plenty of utensils, plates etc and lots of cupboard space, and a good refrigerator, dining table and 4 chairs. The balcony doors both have a fly screen and curtains and were fairly large and both have table and chairs on them. An electric kettle finished off the itinerary. The bathroom was a little on the small side and the shower head was a little loose but for the price, I can't complain.I am told there is no extra charge for children so for around 300 Euros for the week for a family of 4 its great value. The following morning we sauntered down and chose an outside table next to the bar/restaurant next to the bougainvillaeas and shared an omelette ( lesson learned from last year food portions are large) a routine we followed for the rest of the week. The food menu is extensive for such a small place and is a mix of traditional Greek dishes and snacks such as various omelettes, full English or Cretan Breakfast, Pork or Chicken Gyros, Burgers, Calamari, Fries etc. All are home-cooked by Alexandria who will bend over backwards to cook anything you want if she has the ingredients. One night 4 of us shared a Lamb Kleftiko, a Beef Stifado, a Greek salad and another greek dish who's name escapes me, Oh and fries don't forget the fries lol, but some of those meals need to be ordered the day before as they are slow-cooked. Everything was delicious and there's nothing I wouldn't recommend. No idea what the lager was but it came in frosted beer mugs and went down well, The ladies had Martinis and wine mostly but found that there was an apple cider that came in a bottle and drank their entire stock after 3 days lol. You don't have to fetch your own drinks either as Valentina and Alexandria were constantly floating around always willing to bring them to your table. There is an extensive choice of spirits and cocktails available as well as a selection of illy coffees. There is a gift shop/Supermarket on site but if you are self-catering you will struggle for some foodstuffs as its more snacks orientated than anything. Now to the JEWEL IN THE CROWN. The pool area is across the road and is a true oasis. All the furniture by the outside bar is handmade from pallets, very quirky but very attractive and comfortable all the same. The poolside sunbeds all have thick foam covers complete with headrests and the pool itself is unique as the shallow end/kiddies pool actually runs the full length of the pool and is separated by a wall that finishes at water level, never seen that before. Food and drink available from the poolside bar although at busy times you may have to wait or pop over to the main bar. There is an outside and an inside shower and a toilet poolside. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the usual Greek Night had to be cancelled but true to Valentina's character we had a barbecue instead where the staff entertained us with their version of Zorbas Dance, absolutely loved it what a night. Finally, I would like to thank Valentina for looking after us so well ( including a beautiful birthday cake for my wife) and Alexandria for her cooking skills and Maria who not only cleaned our apartment but also washed our pots for us, Amazing service. We have never been looked after so well anywhere in the world including Las Vegas and I can honestly say that we came as guests and left as friends. We have already booked for 2021 COVID willing and can hardly wait. If you are looking for a tranquil holiday away from the cares of the world Valentina's is the place for you If you enjoy walks in beautiful surroundings and getting close to nature then Valentina's is the place for you If you like good food and drink and a really happy can-do atmosphere then Valentina'ss is the place for you If you like to be on the beach then its a 15-minute walk or a 7 euro taxi ride (up to 3 0r 4 people COVID willing) If you like a mad party atmosphere this is not the place for you ps we met some amazing people on this holiday and are looking forward to seeing them again next year so a quick shout out to Jo and Pete and Alistair who made our holiday complete

AmazingWe loved our 2 week stay at Valentinas. It was quiet, obvs because of the global pandemic, but we felt at home. Valentina, alexandria, and Maria are all so friendly and it was lovely spending time chatting with them, and tasting the great breakfasts. The pool area is lovely, felt like a private pool most of the time. The hotel is a 15 min walk to the main bar/restaurant areas but the peace and quiet is worth it. The resort was very quiet but still plenty of places to eat. The room was spacious. Shower a little small but fine. Weather, early Sept, gorgeous. If we ever come back to this side of crete we would definitely stay again.
